maverick808
If you do want to play it on launch day you could still pre-order from the game website. I don't think it's worth leaving it and hoping to find a shop copy on the day.
Chillyo
there will tons of GTA in every big store IMO. I remember getting in line at 8am for Halo3, the next day they had 3 times more.
Cockfoster
Smaller retailers will probably still have some considering the huge amount of people who'll be rushing to GAME, HMV and Zavvi

Coltrane's Muse
More than likely, it will not. If you live in a rural area (or a smaller town in which not many avid gamers live), then you'll most likely stand a shot at acquiring a copy with a reservation. doa kappatango
I know you are talking about in store, but: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/...&cat=%5cGamesPC 1 - 2 weeks for stock If you haven't pre-ordered in the UK - good luck with the very early morning fight to get a copy. Dirtymopossie88
I don't know, but if you send me $500,000,000,000. Then I will be able to tell the future more clearly.
dudi
doa kappatango stop talking crap. I haven't pre-ordered and still stand more chance of getting the game on release over a fair few people that did pre order from certain places, especially postal companys. JHughes1882
I'd say go to a big ship at midnight, if not, come back early in the morning. Be careful though as I got San Andreas the day after it came out and there was only 1 shop in my whole town who had a copy left, and guess what. it was the most expensive. Thanks for the personal Attack. The guy was asking about WHsmith. I just linked him. For the record I have spoken to all High street Store in my local Town, which is a big size. All say Pre-orders are no longer being taken and they are not expecting any general release stock due to the existing pre orders they have. Thats not me "talking Crap", I am expressing my personal opinion.

For the record, I think we will see a large amount of posts form guys who could NOT get the game. I wont see them though - My paid for pre order is being collected at midnight
Steve_Burazer
I hate this kinda stuff... Why do you have to buy it first and play the game 10 miliseconds before the others? What will you get with that? Do as I will. I'll play it (maybe) this summer in the U.S.A, but if not then, then in October. There's a saying 'round here that says: ''Happiness is best while you're waiting for it.'' So, if the game does sell out, you'll just get it the next day, or in thursday. And remember-the sooner you start it-the sooner you'll finish it!
Jay
doa kappatango stop talking crap. I haven't pre-ordered and still stand more chance of getting the game on release over a fair few people that did pre order from certain places, especially postal companys. That's just the people not inclined to wait in line for a rush at what copies are left of the game, and who didn't pay for postage which would reach them on Tuesday. It isn't the same in Australia. I've walked into game stores on release of nearly all previous GTAs and have had no trouble.
mudriy
My local GAME shop have already taken maximum amount of pre-orders, They say, the only way to get the game now is to buy as part of a console bundle. I think anyone who hasn't pre-ordered (ask yourself, why?, WHY?!) will have a tough time getting it.

shadoolaw
My local Gamestop is still accepting pre-orders for both the regular and limited edition. I think stores are gonna have plenty. GTA4 is a huge game, maybe the biggest game ever. Look at the advertising Rockstar is doing for it. They're gonna ship a lot of copies. BUT, you probably still do wanna pre-order just in case. You never know. If you know you're gonna get the game, why not pre-order and guarantee you get it the day it comes out?
