ps3 - pc monitor

Hello,

 

I dont own a ps3 yet but im going to buy the ''ps3+gta pack''.

But ive got a crappy tv, so i was wondering what do i need to connect my ps3 to my pc monitor.

And will it work on my monitor i've got a samsung syncmaster 225bw.

So all you'll need is a HDMI to DVI cable to be viewing you PS3 in HD.

 

DVI-D doesn't carry sound so you'll need your audio link up to something straight from your PS3 if you haven't already.

Yes. But you have no sound that way.

However, you can use the composite cable that came with it and use that for audio (just need to set audio/video separately in the options after).

And sound...If you want it.

 

You can either run the sound via optical cable on the digital output, if you have an amplifier or surround sound system that has an input for it.

 

Or run the sound out via component (Red & White audio cable) to whatever you want.

does anyone know where the difference between DVI-I and DVI-D is? Grrr I hate all those different kinds of plugs.
