That's also untrue. Why? Because, most, if not all, companies do background checks. They find out you stole something from an employer, you're basically screwed.

For some it is...for most it's simply a means to a end...a way to get ahead (by maintaining a solid work history)...to get the eventual GOOD job where you can actually make a decent amount of money. In order to do that you have to work your way up...that doesn't include stealing copies of games or selling unreleased product...that's simply the exact opposite of what you want to do if you want to succeed in life. If you think otherwise then you're a f*cking fool.

 

If you can tell me that you have succeeded in life and make tons of money now because early on in your career you stole games and broke street dates and got fired from jobs for doing the same...then I'll eat my copy of GTA IV when I get it on the 29th.

 

My bet is you have been pretty much a straight shooter throughout your life to get to the position you have gotten yourself into. Doesn't mean you're not an ass for suggesting someone potentially screw over their future for your temporary entertainment.

Who would haul the trash? Who would make that breakfast sandwich you just have to have at the drive thru? Who's going to stock the shelves at the local grocery store? Who would clear the freakin pipes when they get clogged? Who is going to oversee and maintain municipal water systems?

 

You would classify these as sh*t jobs yet, someone must do them. Same with video game stores; if they could not keep employees, they wouldn't stay open long would they? Apart from a select few, the majority of us now realise that shops around the world are storing the most anticipated piece of merchandice... ever(?).

 

What is the world coming to when, not one solitary GTA fan is willing to steal a copy from work, at the risk of being fired. Seriously, in most cases it is only a job to cover a megre student loan - take the bloody risk - if you get fired get a job in a pub, it's more fun anyway.

Hey just wanted to say to j wheazy, I have been arrested for possesing a controled drug, and i got a more than just a "slap on the wrist" i also have a criminal record because of it (which im not proud of) BUT, i have managed to get myself a Decent paying job, Labouring for my uncles company "Cumbria Roofing". and you can say sh*t to that because you work on a construction site. so if you say anthing about my "career" you also ripping your own lol.

You know, name calling is a distinctly juvenile trait- normally occurs when the person who does it simply cannot come up with any kind of intelligent response so they resort to name calling. Also, your initial post advocated THEFT - and your reasoning behind it was that it could possibly be the best thing that could happen to them. Doesn't sound like 'accidental sale' to me. When is it illegal to sell a video game? When you sell it as something else; some brighteyed manager on this board stated he'd have his employee scan a different game but give him GTA IV; that's known as fraud in some countries so I would not advocate that either.
