Speedometer in GTA IV?

Ive always wondered why Rockstar never put speedometers in GTA games. I think it would be a cool easy thing to put in GTA IV and havent heard about it in anything ive read. Just a numbered speedometer in the corner while driving.. not to hard to stick in there.

Have any of you heard anything about this? Im gussing not...

Its just cool to know how fast your going around corners and stuff and comparing that to real life... Of course you dont NEED it.. just nice thing to have. Would make it just that much better for me.

Of course it is needed. I want to know for sure that I am doing 20mph in a street sweeper.

it would clutter the screen, which gets rid of the point of them reducing the stuff on the HUD

This isnt a race car game.

so what if its not race car game so you say you dont wanna know how fast your can ride ? where's connection between game genre and awesome gameplay addition ? and hell...how it would affect the game itself huh ? confused.gifsuicidal.gif

Yeah! And hey! Why doesn't Rockstar put in the feature of taxes, too?!?! So that way Niko can have the added fun and realism of being f*cked by the long d*ck of the law!!!

why are people so negative about a speedo

I would totally want to know how fast my infernus is going down a crowded liberty city street

how fast I hit that last ped

so when your playing with friends and you do something awesome you dont have to say

I hit that guy doing LIKE 80!! but can say I DID hit that guy doing 80!!!

Like all games things like that have a toggle in the menu

so us who like it can have it and those who dont want the thumb size "clutter"

can turn it off

Because no one likes extra things being added to make a great game better. It's "pointless" and if you want it then "play some other game".

Im a PBM.

Then why are you playing GTA IV? They added a whole lot of extra things to make the game better and that's what everyone is here for.

It would be nice to have a speedometer on the HUD, but if there is a virtual dashboard with first person view, that'd be good enough for me. That's probably how I'll end up driving anyways.

Why are all of you such dickwads about this concept? At least make it optional... This isn't need for speed, well then take out all the fast cars then, because this is not a racing game. Take out motorcycles, this isn't a motorcycle racing game. Take out helicopters, this isn't a flying game. You guys are right, this is Grand Theft Auto, it has a little bit of everything, so if you don't at least think it COULD be added to the game, you are a f*cking jackass.
