It's not as bad as that movie that was advertised last summer on a bunch of buses in NYC called "Captivity" advertised everywhere. The picture showed some lady being tortured and beaten. So... I mean, how could a city blame a few extra crimes on a game, when it hasn't even come out yet. And to show footage of someone crying as a result of a shooting in this article is bad taste. Nobody got inspired by Scarface to become the most gangster coke dealer in America. No, they made XXXL t-shirts with money signs everywhere. When the Godfather came out, nobody started their own crime family and killed their brother and their brother in law or their buddy because they were suspicious. I think that if the parents find the game wrong, just dont buy it for their kids. The game is Mature rated already so there's still control over this. The ones to blame are the parents. An adult that buys the game has conscience that the game is violent and that it is just that: a Video Game. Nobody can blame rockstar or GTA for murders and violentation in the U.S. or anywhere else. Because producing acts of violence and murder is really up to the player's conscious awareness and Rockstar isn't telling the gamer to murder or become violent in real life. Looking at the poster for Saw IV is much worse than looking at the ads for GTA IV (OMG PPL STARING AT MEEEE!!!1!1111!!) Give me a break. How much is a news slot in Chicago worth to a company? They have just given the game/R* probably hundred of thousands of dollars if not millions worth of free publicity. If the ads are pulled i think R* will be happy with the overall level of PR. the overall issue is the medium not the content anyway. Movies/books can be just as violent but video games are an easy target for attention seeking politicians/news media. It appeals to their voting/viewing demographic, while having probably positive effect on sales of the game. I've played GTA from as early as 10 and it aint done nothing to me.What I think is that, it depends on the childs background, and the area in which they live, and they will be more likely to fall into a life of crime anyway.
