Hi.

First post and all that. Anyhow, do u guys think i really need to preorder gta 4? I mean, there was the same fuss about Halo 3 being out of stock but on the day of release at about 3pm, i just walked into game and picked up a copy. Is it really worth doing?

Try and find a place with available pre-order slots. You can never take a chance with a game that's been pre-ordered for a year now. Hell, I got mine pre-ordered on Saturday from a little GameStop ten miles away. Place was empty on a Saturday at 7:00, so it was easy.

It was all talk, but its been confirmed that certain stores arent taking pre-orders.

You shouldn't take any chances, I say you pre-order.

Stores usually order copies for pre-orders, as they have first priority, whatever they have left they sell it to people who didnt pre-order.

Coltrane's Muse

"Pre-ordering", as it's now known as, is good for those anal-retentive types who've nothing better to do than take several minutes of their day monitoring the weariful journey of their anticipated product from the factory to the shipping facility, to the delivery van and ultimately, their doorstep.

On more than one occasion I've been able to simply waltz into the local department store and acquire a copy of a particular title on the day of its release; this includes such highly sought after titles as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Super Smash Bros.: Brawl and many installments of the Smackdown! franchise.

My conclusion? "Pre-ordering" is yet another tool of the ever-annoying hype machine, and while it does indeed give one piece of mind, it truly isn't a warranted process. If anything, it simply builds the demand of a product. Afterall, we're dealing with savvy businessmen, no?

The Only reason i pre-orderd Was for the Limited edition collectors stuff. and Because i had the money in cash and had nothing better to do at that time. and its not very convieniant for me. because EB games will ring me when their stock comes in an I will have to Phsically Go there and Pick it up. none of this deliver to my Doorstep crap.
