The-Cornish-Cracker
I was thinking about DLC and the fact that Rockstar will all be taking a 1 month vacation from around now. So say they start working on GTA IV: Episode 1 in say a months time, it will probably take a few months to make. Wouldn't this hamper time from making the next game in the GTA IV series? Because the team are busy making this DLC. So because of Microshaft we could be waiting longer for GTA IV (Insert next city here) Discuss!
josh995
That seems like a good logic... I can see this happening. They could be using that extra time making the next game. Oh well, they wouldn't be 'making the game' they would just be doing all of the planning and stuff... ie: deciding where to base the game on, mapping the story line. But still, they could be doing all of that.
j wheazy
i have a 360, so i look at it like this...i will get fresh content in a few months, which should add more playing time to this current title, which is going to take a year to beat anyways. im not bothered by it & i think rockstar will have a small team working on the DLC & the rest of the people will start working on the next installment of the series
Molineux
I presume Rockstar Leeds will be making DLC as they made VCS and LCS, so it wouldnt be too much unalike to make the DLC for IV
DDR Midian
That is the whole point. R* said they don't want to rush out another game in a years time, they want this one to last years. Therefore they're making the DLC to keep it alive and keep it interesting without resorting to scraping up a quick sequel.
CEE-JAY
Surely it would be different teams of people...
luger
I don't think so. R* is pretty big by now - they have enough people to spare. With any luck, the episodic content will keep us all satiated while we wait for the new game which will likely come out about a year or so after the last DLC is released. -Toreno-
Good point, surprising to see these on this forum. From a selfish point of view, I don't mind, I have a 360, so I'd like to have some extra content for the game to lengthen it's life. I really do pity PS3 owners, as it must suck not having the content.
MSP430
Well yeah that is a very good point, but I think as the rumors go the DLC will be a new city, then thats somekind of a new game, though only for x360 users - for the ps3 i think DLC will eventually come. Different than x360 or the same, thats the question..
DDR Midian
My post wasn't just speculation people, I got it straight from a Sam Houser interview. GTA V isn't going to be out for a good few years.
adlingtont
They may have some of the DLC made already. And they probably wont have the whole of the team working on it so some will be working on the next GTA

I don't think the detail this generation is something you can whip up VC style.

Trund
I doubt there will be a new GTA in 2009, more likely 2010. Also, not the whole team will work on the DLC, since it is nothing huge anyways, and they're in no hurry.

Tlynn327
DCL won't slow anything down. Also if every time R* said a GTA game was exclusive, and they actually meant it. GTA4 would be the 1st game on a MS console. Sony will get the same stuff just later. You'll see.

I mean, you can keep believing that it is going to be a "city" or some crap, but in the end you'll find out that the DLC will only be missions content, for which YOU will have to pay, it is not free. And if it would be something "huge", MS would advertise it, and they don't. All they do is send out lame e-mails saying how the 360 version is better due the DLC.
