josh995 Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 If someone is caught playing GTA IV before it's released, will Microsoft ban the users until the year 9999, like they did with Halo 3? I don't ask because I plan on doing it, in fact, I am a Playstation 3 user, but this question just came to my head because I was reading another topic. Also, how does that work, being banned until 9999? Does it lock up your entire console, or you just can't do any online gaming with it? It seems plausible that they will ban users caught playing early, because they did pay 50 million dollars for content, so do you think they will? If anyone ever has a leaked copy of a game and are dumb enough to fire it up while their console is still connected to the internet, they deserve to have the thing explode in their face. j wheazy Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 people werent banned because they played halo 3 early, i played it about a week before it came out, downloaded illegal copy too. people got banned because MS did a firmware update & had a record of all the people playing un-stealthed games. they wont ban you for playing early, its not illegal to buy a game & play it before its officially released. and i would play it online the second it was released, as long as its stealthed, MS cant see what youre doing. you would be stupid not to try out the online featues IMO Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Zatunks Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 I think it would be a bit much to ban someone for playing the game early. Why assume that everyone knows the official, legal street date? Perhaps they got it as a present from a relative who bought it at a store that, for whatever reason, was selling it early, and had no idea that it wasn't really supposed to be out yet. gfxluvr Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 FOR THE MILLIONTH F*CKING TIME. The reason SOME people were banned early for playing Halo 3 early was because they had a PIRATED VERSION. That means to play it there Xbox's were MODDED. But people who got it from STORES did not get a ban. Some of you really should learn the English language, it will come in handy.
