Drake1212 Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 I come from Denmark and i just wanted to ask the outside world their point of view. the 30 September in Denmark the newspaper "Jyllandsposten" posted satirical pictures of the Islam prophet Muhammed. many muslims where angry about this and they created alot riots, even Osama Bin Laden said in a video that he wanted muslims to make terror attacks in Denmark. a lot things has happened since that, the drawer is gone underground, the islam organisation Hizb ut tahrir also supported terror in denmark and said they wanted our national Constitution shifted out with the koran.(one of our politicans made a statement to this by saying "If you want our country to be as yours then f*ck of) i dont know the whole story but if you wanna read it go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammed_drawings i just wanted to ask you, have you heard the story before, do you think the drawer did something wrong? and such things. He said that he didn't want people rioting in our country, if they were gonna do stuff like that, they could get sent out of the country and back to where they're orignal from. IMO, there's nothing wrong with the drawings, and I really don't get that part of their relegion that says "You can't draw our god, if you do it we're gonna have to kill you" or something along those lines. And another thing, why do they keep banning all our products in Isreal and Iraq etc. It wasen't the fabricant of those products who made the drawings, it was a newspaper. As far as I know, the Koran does say quite plainly "kill those who do not follow the Koran" and it also says "do not portray the prophet Muhammed in any visual way." So by drawing Muhammed, the guy technically should be hunted down and killed by every Muslim, since he's not following the Koran. I think it's all BS though. As far as I know, the Quran says something like "... do not force others into your religion... and do not mock someone's religion", or something similar. Now put yourself in a Muslim's place: It's friday night but you can't have sex, and you can't jack off, there's sand in your eyes and your ass crack and then a cartoon comes on from some country where people are getting laid and mocks your prophet. Actually he went under ground because of death threats, His wife was recently fired from a kindergarden because they were afraid of terror attacks.. LOL! People sharing the same name as the drawer has recieved death threats as well! it's pretty damn f*cked up! I've heard lots of muslims complaining over the drawings, but still thought that the fundamentalists got it all wrong and that they should solve the problem with diplomacy. Even one of our stand-up comedians, Omar Marzouk, made fun of the fundamentalists and the drawings as well. Every religion has their extreme people. The christians, the muslims, the jews... Not really. Just don't force your religion onto others. Denmark's religion, to my knowledge, is Lutheran, so it's their choice guys. Also, it's a democracy, say, draw whatever you want. But some cultures need more time to realize religion is useless and its only used to keep them under control (it was in the past at least). I can definitely see how Muslims could be offended by the pictures, but it's a bit ridiculous to take it to the level of death threats and terror threats. If you have such a damn problem with it, just ignore it. You have to understand that the majority of people understand that these pictures weren't meant to depict reality. Since is has been done by Denmark, Our country has already banned products that we import from Denmark. A famous powder milk from Denmark named RED COW and its related all products are banned from our country due to that reason, This kind of cartoonist should be punished at all cost(from the muslims point of view), but I dont see any reasons to banned their product. It's all a horrible contradiction. A guy makes a film denouncing Islam as violent and what is the answer? Death threats. The key is for more moderate Islamic voices to be raised in favour of strong nationalism and utterly opposed to the fanaticism of others. This cannot be done until every mosque is nationalised.
