Harpstar
Short but sweet. Not much (if anything) in the way of spoilers. Another perfect score. Review Edited April 21, 2008 by Harpstar

gta-guru
How is that a review? I learn more about the game from reading previews from months ago

Vincenzo_NL
Wouldn't exactly call it the worst review. It's structured well and written nicely in my humble opinion. Keep in mind that we're not dealing with a videogames-oriented website/source, and therefor shouldn't treat the website as such. Wearing my GTA fanatic hat though, of course I'm disappointed . ak-4seven
So I guess this perfect score doesn't really count cuz it's a stupid movies magazine?

VladimirGlebov
crammed with challenges that inspire a nagging sense of déjà vu, and if you’re looking for a game that retools the freeform, sandbox adventure from the ground up, this isn’t it. What the hell. New ‘ragdoll physics’ – which allow the bodies of virtual humans to react like their floppy, real-world counterparts This guy is an idiot. scubakid
So I guess this perfect score doesn't really count cuz it's a stupid movies magazine? Empire is a very highly reputed magazine and is by no means 'stupid'. They simply have a small section, two pages, in the magazine each month dedicated to games. It wouldn't be in depth, it wouldn't have new screenshots, but of course the perfect review counts. Just because the magazine centers on films doesn't mean they don't realise when games are good, jackass.

What the hell. Yeah same thing here lol, WTF are they talkin about? They're saying that challenges, or levels, in the game are similar to the ones from the predecessors and earlier levels. I.e. Similar mission structures throughout. Hence the 'de ja vu' pun.

That's why I said that they just have a small section, and it's mainly a film magazine so it's game reviews aren't particularly detailed as it isn't the magazines main focus. A review is better than no review. It's just their opinion on the game. What does it matter how short it is? It isn't a games magazine, thereofre it isn't going to go into much detail. What do you honestly expect? It has a very small section in the magazine for games, they can't write a whole lot.
FrenchGuy
It looks more like a fanzine than a review but tx anyways.....

Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
The only negative part of the review, which disappoints me, but really doesn't suprise me. At this point everything is familiar. GTA IV doesn’t reinvent the wheel. It sticks with the same mission-based structure as its predecessors, is crammed with challenges that inspire a nagging sense of déjà vu, and if you’re looking for a game that retools the freeform, sandbox adventure from the ground up, this isn’t it.
