I think some are perhaps getting the wrong end of the stick I think Toys R Us and other leading retailers are probably getting stock of the game in this Friday but not actually selling it on that day. Elsparko Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 As for America, I doubt that TrU will sell the game early. It's not a lawsuit they risk as much as T2 dropping them from distribution. IV is going to sell pretty well for quite a while, so I assure you that TrU doesn't want the first week's shipment to be their only one. Now, there may be some renegade store manager that simply figures it won't matter, but he'd be in some mega-trouble with corporate if they found out about it. "Erm i think its out this week ill go and check" ME "OMFGZ !!!" "Hi we have not got any in yet which is weird but we think its friday were not sure though" So basically it sounds like becuase all games come out on Friday's they assume its then. I believe some stores will release IV THIS FRIDAY because thats when games come out here in the UK and IV wont be any different to them I will be checking Toys R US and Tesco and other stores this Friday!!! xxstalker24xx Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 As i have said in another thread, some large retailers have the opportunity to sell GTA early if they are willing to or have payed Rockstar / T2 a bomb load of cash. This has happend with a number of games and mainly the WoW expansion of which was sold rly early by ASDA as they payed Blizzard. Also this has an advantage for the retailer of which will have more customers then if they didn't and R*/T2 may get alot more money then if they got the money from the games sold only.
