I have just spoken to a staff member at HMV at lunch time and he said that even though the game shows as shipped it is actually still in their distribution centre and will not be picked up by the royal mail until Sunday. from skillednutter on the avforums AVForums Just did some more research into what i said on the other thread. It would appear under Electronic Commerce Regulations 2002 that all online electonics goods companies MUST post the item to be dispatched within 12hrs of TAKING the money from an account online. So this would mean 3am tonight would be the latest they can hold it. So as i said they would get a huge fine and risk their online license if they ignored this law. I've received an email from HMV today stating that it has been sent out today, although it does say 2-5 days delivery and yet they emailed me not 2 hours before saying they will send it out via Special Delivery....I've emailed them about it but what do you guys think?! On my actual HMV previous orders page it's saying "Completed order - please click on order number for detailed information" and then when I click on the order number it's saying "Completely shipped"....so er...hmm? Not 100% true, Royal Mail do not guarantee special delivery items on a saturday but they DO deliver special delivery items on a saturday. If you have ordered and received the 'item posted' email from HMV (as I have!) then I can pretty much assure you you will have the game either saturday OR monday at the latest! One day early!! Nice. They even sent an e-mail to me yesterday saying "you still have a chance to pre-order Grand Theft Auto IV for launch day". So why hasn't my copy been sent yet? I pre-ordered a Playstation 3 (Special Edition) last week (18th April) Perhaps I am being impatient. Has anyone else NOT had their copy dispatched yet? It's the same sitatution as me MIKEYBOYCARDIFF. Maybe it'll make it's way there tonight. As for the guy who ordered on 18th April, there were a lot of orders before then for the Xbox 360 but the PS3 was fine so you should get your copy soon enough To be honest I'd be more worried if you ordered GTA4 from them a few days ago since it'll be done on a first come, first served basis which is what Play.com seem to be doing as well. courtneye Posted April 25, 2008 Share Posted April 25, 2008 i ordered a ps3 special edition from hmv on the 17th and had the status of "item not yet recieved by supplier" then yesterday i accidentally cancelled my order and had to order a new one today the process went from "item to be orderd from supplier" to "order not yet proccessed" what do you think is happening with my order? Problem was the HMV claimed it had been posted on Thursday and therefore the order couldn't be cancelled! Email their CS team and find out whats going on, I am!
