If you think GTA IV uses Endorphin, you are incorrect. GTA IV uses Euphoria which is a physics engine for platform gaming, ( Or PC; Haven't looked it up. ) Endorphin isn't a platform physics engine. Just made this thread in order to state a fact. Basic Euphoria - Ragdolls morph into ragdoll mode to take a fall then they morph out of ragdoll mode in order to complete an animation sequence. The ragdoll system as well belongs to Euphoria. My mistake, may have mis-read your post. What I ment to say is that Euphoria is not an animation engine alone. And to say it's a animation engine as a reply is almost irreverent to the topic. Running a DMM engine in GTA IV would be very hardware intensive due to the amount of detail and scale in the city. They're already took a hit in performance with Euphoria and worked from there to make it run as smooth and beautiful as possible. DMM technology is also exclusive to Lucas Arts until September. Crazy Asian is correct. Havok is a physics engine. Euphoria isn't. As he said, Euphoria and Endorphin are animation engines. Now, there are a lot of people out there who are trying to sell you Euphoria as a physics/AI engine. They are marketing people who know crap about engines. Euphoria has to work together with the physics and AI engines to produce the overall effect. Euphoria by itself does have some physics module, but only what it needs to adjust the animations based on the info it receives from the actual physics engine.
