Lars46
No chore pains me more than shaving. Shaving is stupid. People are mammals. We're supposed to be hairy. Who ever came up with the idea of shaving? What were they thinking? Taking a sharp implement of some sort and dragging it across their skin to remove their hair to make that area of their body hairless in an attempt to appear prepubescent? WTF? I have to deal with the redness; irritation; blade-evading straggle whiskers; nicks; outright cuts; full-on gashes; and ... I still have to do it every day because of my f*cking food job. They only allow a small trimmed moustache that can't go past the ends of the lips and short sideburns that must not pass the ears. Are they saying anyone with a beard is not well-groomed? How can it not be an invasion of privacy to tell someone "I don't like what your face looks like. Change it." That's what all of these cases are about. What's next? Telling an employee to have plastic surgery? They say we have to shave because the "hair might get in someone's food" BULLsh*t!!! What if you happen to have hairy f*cking arms? What if you have long hair and that gets in the food? I have even found pubic hairs in my food before! I'm not saying that nobody should shave. You can shave if you really want to. But you should understand that you've been conditioned by cultural expectations which are not natural.

Moonshield
Facial and pubic hair are obsolete now that we have enough layers of clothing to protect our body, and hygiene is better than it was 10000 years ago. Leather the f*ck up about dealing with the "redness". I've dealt with jobs that have told me that my hair was too long, my sideburns were too long, whatever. f*ck them, this isn't the 50s anymore. If you don't like your job, then find a new one.
Picolini
I hate shaving as well. I do it about every week to 3 weeks, some times even more than month. I look much cleaner with a shaved face, but after a week I need to shave the hair first with an electric, then with a razor to get it nice and smooth and not hurt (too long with a razor f*cking kills). But women must shave. If they've got more than a slight fuzz on their face I find it extremely gross. And hairy armpits and legs No thanks. Sorry woman, but one more thing for you to do to get with my hairy face
GodfatherITB
I only ever shave when I'm going to see my girlfriend. So I only really shave about once a week.
Vive La France
What I find ridiculous is this deodorant crap they're pushing. Peope I smell if I don't use it, and that was after I tell them I don't use it. If I just ask them, they say "No". Then I say "Well, good. I didn't put deodorant on," and I hear "that's disgusting. You smell like sh*t." But I only shave when I need to look good, otherwise I just keep my centimeter or so of stubble.
Rocketkiller
God I hate but, but what can I do? 90% of people look f*cking ridiculous with a beard, and I know I do because I got lazy and didn't shave for one week. Shaving when half-asleep is a bitch too because you realize that you've missed parts a few hours later. And to make it worse, I have a goatee so it's just that much harder because you have to be 20x more careful.

unopescio
I hate shaving, I always put it off as long as I can because I get in-grown hairs something horrible.
Icarus
I haven't shaved in a few days and I have somewhat of a shaggy "beard" going on right now. It's exam period, so perhaps I'm too lazy to shave and would rather study. As for shaving, it doesn't really bother me. I try to keep a clean shave just to look somewhat presentable. My job doesn't care about facial hair either, just as long as you don't reek of BO.
TheDude5000
What about hair removal lotion? I know it's geared towards chicks...but I think they should make a male variation. Imagine only having to rub some of this stuff on your face/neck every morning, leaving it on for three or so minutes while you do other stuff, then go wash it off in the shower. You come out, your face is smooth. These hair removal lotion people are missing out on a potentially huge market here. I mean how many guys have the balls to walk into Walgreens and buy some Veet, damnit?
Ludo
I applied for a job once...apparently I didn't get it because I had beard(only a couple of weeks)...and all employees must be clean shaven, I found that out after they didn't get back to me about the job, they didn't even say anything about it in the interview...well what did I do, I let my f*cking beard grow. I will have myself a great big bushy beard one day
WalkerBoh
You can get a doctors note saying your allergic to wind it makes you break out. So you have to have a beard to protect your skin. Thats what some dude I worked with at mcdonalds a few years back told me. I jsut cant stand the fact that my moustache is a yellowish light blond color and my beard is dark brown and so is my hair. Saget
Beard = good (as long as it's not too big); moustache = bad; sideburns = well, if you look good with them, why not. For guys, that is. Just my humble opinion x) @TheDude5000: those lotions are not that simple to use... specially if you have a sensitive skin. If you don't put some moisturizing cream after you use it, your skin will be all dry. |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|
lurchseesu420
A beard is what defines a man. I haven't shaved in nearly 2 months. And while I'm finally starting to like my beard, I wish my chest and back were hairier. I want to be hairy enough that I can wonder around naked in the woods and be mistaken for big foot. SBizz6
Dude, just say you're a hasidic jew. Haha that is an option... except that it may not be the best decision in some scenarios. They would probably cause skin irritation for some people. I'd probably just stick to shaving...
Made
I shave every 2 or 3 days, I don't shave my chin or mustache though. I'm thinking of buying a straight razor though, in the near future. I just need to find a place around here that sells them along with the strop and the other things you need. I'm scared that I might accidentally slit my throat though. Bernard Jazz
I just shave my moustache, the damn thing wouldn't grow in the middle so I look like some sort of German porn star.. As for my beard, I let it grow for about 3 months before finally shaving it off and started regretting it almost immediately. On the plus side, I don't get called Abu Hamza at work anymore.
