thoughtsdeny Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 okay, now in the new interview that is up on gtagaming and gta4....he mentions now that the storage has gone up through the generations (example of cd - dvd storage wise) and how now there can be thousands of sounds etc. i mean, doesn't this make you think they might just pick ps3 for the next console in the next iteration of gta games? i know its way too early but a few interviews ive read recently has stated this "storage capacity" as being very important and needed for next gen gaming. there are a few reasons i think ps3 will get the next gta. although i believe it will be for both again. one is, xbox are slated to have another console sooner than later....the ps3 has storage capacity of and not limited to a 50GB dual layer blu ray. also, mgs4 just used a 50gb and kojima said in an interview that mgs4 is a 1 out of 10 that he wanted to make, there just wasnt enough power and storage for the dream he had for this final game of metal gear. now back on topic, since vice and san an used the almost same game engine, i know there were some tweaks and such so all in all, same engine i suppose (i could be wrong, let me know if i am guys id like to know for sure too) but i believe they will just keep the engine they have from IV and churn out another game that has improvments and such just like last gen. but if the interviews are anything to go off of in talks of storage is the way to go, then i think ps3 would have it. also in an interview gta iv is pushing the systems pretty f*ckin hard as it is, another reason i belive they could just figure out a better way to stream off the blu ray disk and take it back to ps3 exclusive. i could be totally wrong, but xbox 360 (im no fanboy i like both systems in different ways etc.) is in my opinion a next gen machine but yet....not..? ya know? it can do what the ps3 can, but from some of our exclusives this year mgs etc. i believe rockstar will see this hopefully and pull for the more storage and system to supposrt the next gta. nothing against x360 though. Elsparko Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 One thing you have to remember is that it's not just the storage capacity, but the developmental tools used to make the game. How well they can compress and retrieve data has a lot to do with how a game turns out, as we saw from the evolution of III up to SA. When they first made III, they had pretty much tapped out their abilities - at that TIME. Internal software development is a good chunk of the deciding factor on how much content you'll be seeing on the next iteration of GTA games. SE4NNNN Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 Ill put it to you this way, if you make something so big and so dense its gonna be a turd. no need to have 50 gigs of memory tbh unless your gonna put the ultimate collection of pr0n on it or something and i hate to say it, even if you polish a turd its still gonna be a turd. Johnny Burbank Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 This is the one question no reviewer has asked yet. How much of the DVD9 did the game take up? If Liberty City is half as detailed and awesome as people are saying it is, then I think it answers a lot of the storage capacity questions of the 360. Yes there are numerous rumors that microsoft might come up with a new console in under 3 years (before the next instalment in the GTA series). It is also rumored that Microsoft and Sony are talking about a Blu-Ray drive for the 360, though if it is for gaming or simply True-HD movies no one is sure. Microsoft sayd a long time ago they will consider a Blu-Ray drive for the 360 if Blu-Ray wins the format war, and it did. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BLU-RAU SUCKS!!! and 360 has USB ports., Hello external computer Hardrive. i plugged one in and 500 mb of Free space Hello!!! Actually i dont know if that is possible. But remember 360 is probably 10x more poplary that ps3 because its cheaper and it has alot of more exusive games. besides final fantasy. They will not give up 2/3 of their profits on the 360 just so that they can improve their game more.
