What I'm trying to say is... the chances of someone spoiling it to you for a game like Grand Theft Auto is slim to none. The game is mostly targeted torward the casual gamer, the fifteen year old kid down the street. No one really cares about the story enough or thinks anyone else cares about the story enough to completely ruin it for anyone. When Metal Gear Online came out, hell yes, everyone started spoiling Portable Ops because they know anyone who bought it isn't a "casual gamer" and knows that the story of each MGS game is sacred and doesn't give the full effect when spoiled. Compared to when Call of Duty 4 came out, a game for the more casual gamers... ... I've never even heard ANYONE talk about the Story Mode the day I got it. There's some truth in what you say. Most people who play GTA don't exactly pay attention to the story since most of them are just "casual" gamers. Although that still doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of "hardcore" gamers who play these games. I agree with the OP, you're still at risk of getting the story spoiled for you if you happen to run into assholes while playing online (which has like what, a 70-80 percent chance of happening?). I've never thought about that before, mostly I tend not to play MP first since I have a bad habit of getting addicted to it and forget about the SP. BTW: It would be soooo cool if Bob Dole was in the game!!! what's your connection speed? 100mbps. whatever that means. I've tried before and the 360 just seems to stop loading when it is recovering my MS ID. So I'll try to grab some multiplayer early on, at least until I got this thing. I'll just disable mic through speakers and put my mic headset away. As for exploring the city before you are supposed to, well.. It doesn't really matter now does it? You are supposed to see it sooner or later anyway and you don't really learn about the story just because you saw the buildings in another part of the city. I am really eager to see the entire map and I don't think that I can wait to unlock it in SP. And about spoilers, to prevent idiots from ruining the story, I will probobly just mute everyone because most of the time they don't say anything important. I agreed to stay off the forums until I finished multiplayer, but I never realised how dangerous as a whole the internet can be. You have NO CLUE what you're missing! Before Live I played my game, beat the missions, and they got boring. Multiplayer is fun as hell and you're only hurting yourself by not trying it. You allready played GTA4 alot, your even deep into the storyline. You decide to chill on multiplayer to have fun. Right?? right?? WRONG!!!! Once you go on a server, the first thing you hear is "NIKO IS SENT TO PRISON TO KILL FAUSTIN AS REVENGE FOR AFTER HE KILLED ROMAN!!! ROMAN DIES!!!! NIKO KILLS FAUSTIN!!!!!! BOB DOLE IS NIKO's SPECIAL FREIND!!!" (not tru btw) You get the point. Spoilers galore! Multiplayer on GTA4 will be a jackass's DREAM to ruin the game's plot and twists screaming out spoilers. And you cant do nothing.... but listen! Thats why I will stay off multiplayer for quite some time. Ill only go on wif friends. BUT SERIOUSLY... think about it people. Multiplayer = ppl ruining your game expirence. Heck, If i beat the game in 1day, i know i would be going on MP and YELLING at everyone what happens!! I have free internet included in my rent. You should be able to get onlnie perfectly with almost no lag. I have a 100mbps connection and i can get my PS3 online with no lag in games except when im downloading stuff on my pc.
