"With all the games we made, including the two PSP ones, they were great for their platforms they were put on. When we put the PSP ones on PS2, we charged $20 for tons and tons of content and we were very clear that they weren’t meant to be a true sequel, it was like a story extension. If you understood that, there was no way you could be annoyed by it."

that quote makes me think, was the answer in front of us this whole time? 2 dlc's 2 psp games, those 2 psp games were just meant as story extensions and not sequels the price of the games were $20 on ps2 which is what i can only speculate its how much those 2 dlc's will cost each. lazlo was on opie and anthony talking the other day and he said that rockstar was working on the new dlc that included new missions, new characters and some other stuff the expected stuff cars and whatnot also he mentioned the first is due in august. there have been some rumors about complete city's in the dlc, i don't think this will happen since another quote from that interview with variety Dan stated it took only 6 months to come up with the concept for LC but almost 2 years to build it, unless rockstar has been working on this dlc for a few years already i don't think well see a new city priced at 20 dollars in august witch if you don't know it only 4 months away.

so here's my diagnosis new characters, new cars, new missions, story extension, 20 dollars to me it all adds up to probably taking place just after the gta4 time slot and you play another main character, maybe somebody you meet in gta4 or more than likely somebody that constantly gets talked about or mentioned and never actually seen. there will be new music, new weapons maybe even a few new radio stations or who know maybe Even a borough might pop up but just one borough at most. so take it as you want it, its purely speculation. we will see in august until then next Tuesday guys, happy grand thefting.

so heres my diagnosis new characters, new cars, new missions, story extention, 20 dollars to me it all adds up to probly taking place just after the gta4 timeslot and you play another main character, maybe somebody you meet in gta4 or more than likley somebody that constantly gets talked about or mentioned and never actually seen. there will be new music, new weapons maybe even a few new radio stations or who know maybe evern a burough might pop up but just one burough at most. so take it as you want it, its purley speculation. we will see in august untill then next tuesday guys, happy grand thefting.

Dan said the DLC will be a new storyline that will be roughly 10 new hours of gameplay. he said the way the missions would be activated was by a random ped running up to you on the street and asking you for his help, then that mission opens anothe rmissions, which opens another. etc. etc. possibly some new cars or objects, probably new characters.

new cities is a real long shot.

Poster above me: dude you're full of awesomness icon14.gif

Doubtful that it would be much of a map, of if it is it would only be a tiny portion required for "hiding" where the new characters and/or cars are. I wouldn't get too many hopes up about having a HUGE amount of DLC. Surely the normal parts of IV would be enough to keep most occupied for long enough that any DLC is more of a bonus.

I'm not expecting new areas, I'm really not. It's just going to be additional storyline, with new missions and probably new clothes and cars added in.

I think it would be cool if you did play as other characters in the two 'episodes' though, imagine playing as someone that you have interacted with in the main storyline. See things from their perspective and maybe even add depth to the main storyline as you find out why things happend for Niko as they did. That would be cool.

I don't think ANY 360 or PS3 user should get their hopes up about downloadable cities. They'll save a new city for the next installment, I'm 90% certain. I'm a 360 user myself, I'm content with new missions, cars, and whatnot.

ESPECIALLY PS3 owners!!! tounge.gif

You never know.

PS3 could get content one day for IV.

It could happen. bored.gif

Maybe its all about missions in the 1st pack and then its all about new land in the 2nd pack.

With the 2nd 1 having no real release date that would give R* enough time to make and build a new set of land.

Who knows they've probably already started work on both packs with the 2nd 1 having more time worked on it.

DLC is 360 exclusive. microsoft payed like 4 mill or sumthing like that to have DLC for GTAIV. idk if this is still true, because i herd about this about 5 months ago

$50mUSD I believe.

The "Episodic DLC" is exclusive, that doesn't mean additional content forthcoming after those two "Episodic Packs" will be XBOX Exclusive.

I'd rather the DLC be like some new cars and multiplayer features, i mean a storyline extension and all this 10 hour of gameplay to me just seems rather lame, the story line R* made is the only one i really care about, the extra will be good but it just seems like a forced money grab and thrown on just for the sake of doing something with DLC...

but isnt it vaguely the same concept as liberty city/vice city stories on the psp. Same place, different missions (and different guy, but we'll ignore that for the timebeing)

That seemed to sell quite well, even when they ported them to the PS2.

rockstar will still be making the DLC story line, surely

I for one will gladly pay for a 10 hour DLC additional story. I would be a little disappointed if after all this hype it simply was a few multiplayer modes and some new cars.

I heard MS helped Rockstar by giving them a 50MIL loan. Till that is over, it'll stay exclusive to 360.

Plus in any case the DLC will always be the property of Rockstar. They can do whatever they want with it.

If they wanted to release it on another console, they could do it. Contracts get changed all the time.

DLC is probably a timed exclusive anyways, MS can not "OWN" dlc indefinitely.

No company pays $50 million for a timed exclusive on DLC. The PS3 will never see it. Ever.

Hah, why can't they? Ever heard of intellectual property? Microsoft purchased the rights to intellectual property, namely, 2 content packs. If they choose to keep it exclusive indefinitely, they certainly have the option to do so. $50,000,000 is far too much for a timed exclusive. Think about how much money that is for a second, how much do you think the budget was for all of GTA4?
