We're not fanboys, we're curious. You're really not gonna get your answer until you play the game. You just have to wait 9 days, and I'm guessing that the A.I. will be nowhere near horrible. But in an IGN preview a couple months ago they mentioned that they drove off a cliff and the cops followed him off the 40ft cliff. Not as if thats impossible... the cop in real life could be focussed on chasing you that he doesnt realise why you just dropped out of sight before he himself is flying off the cliff. Every other magazine and internet preview/review have said the AI is excellent, i don't know who to believe now, atleast the AI will be miles better than in the previous games. you're like my hero for saying that. I have noticed in the trailers, and other short clips that NPC far from clear view are not animated by Euphoria...therefore they look a bit tacky as the move compared to the NPC close to you. I think the crappy animation in the far has to do with that euphoria can not animate every one, for its hardware intensive. You can see one example here: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/205471.html in the first 30 seconds. The other example is near the end of the LCPD video, about 0:42 seconds through the video, look at the NPC in the far back running. I'm not looking for perfect but dumb is troubling to me. Just so you all realize, A.I. doesn't necessarily have to imply the later of the two words. "Intelligence" in this case can be interchangeable with sentience and when you consider sentience, you consider the mere idea of thought and ability to reason; as long as the NPC's have these abilities, then they are far closer to true A.I. than were giving them credit for. On a different note, I would also agree that I could deal with 'Sometimes dumb' A.I. because you look at normal people, even the smartest individuals, and aren't they 'dumb' sometimes? Nobody is perfect, and I feel that its a far cry from correct to have a 'perfect' AI when one is trying ti simulate people's intelligence. And just how effective do you want the AI to be? I just don't want them to be "dumb". You know...there's a middle ground between "dumb" and "perfectly flawless". I understand that even the next-gen games can only do so much. However, when I hear the A.I. is dumb, I'm very concerned by what the reviewer meant.
