I could care less if parachutes and the walking around listening to music was cut from the game. I would never use them anyways. I have my own choices you have yours. this game is going to be great regardless if those were cut from the game . Me and millions of other people are going to enjoy the game, If your not just because of that then that's just you. First of all i understand why there are no planes it makes sense but will someone tell me why there are no parachutes? why there are no custom soundtracks?(if it was on the first xbox how can it not be on the far superior next gen consoles),and now you cant listen to music on your phone which was a great idea. all i hear from a lot of people here is sh*t like "custom soundtracks would ruin the atmosphere of the game" that is total bullsh*t it's not like they didnt delay the game for 6 months. surely i'm not alone.......am i? if your gona flame me then please give me crystal clear explanations why. I'm going to flame you. Where the hell were you a year ago? It was full of people complaining about Rockstar taking the realistic route too far. I think we all got over it... Yup, they took a lot of good stuff out. I'm still not convinced about the on-foot radio thing, or parachutes. And I never wanted planes or car customization. Custom tracks are out because, to my knowledge, there will be an import/export function that you have to pay for (as much as that sucks). RAAAAGE Justin??? Anyway Parachutes were ok, but only to crash into the ground face first and not flailing. Custom sound tracks would be ok but I wouldn't use them, R* pick some good ass music. If you're flying over water, why couldnt you just jump out, and land in the water? Niko can swim afterall. Couldn't jump out of a helicopter, in Vice City with a parachute. It's my opinion that SA had way too much for its time. Too many people expected stuff from SA to be carried over. We'll probably see it in another GTA later on. I think R* know what they're doing. If they see it as necessary to remove these features in GTA IV, than so be it. All I know is I'm going to have a blast playing it. Alot of people will get over the removal of planes, parachutes, tanks etc when they see what GTA IV offers. MOSThatedMONKEY Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 uh the reason that custom soundtracks aren't available (xbox owners only) is because last I checked EVERY game has that capability instructions: hit the guide button while playing game scroll down to select music select music on either hardrive or portable device select play music lastly slam face into television planes are out cuz you don't need them. . . there is only ONE airport . . what are you gonna do go jack a plane and then land it right back where you go it from . . you can't exactly execute a perfect landing in the middle of Little Italy No need for parachutes because unless you plan on base jumping from the empire state building (which does sound kinda fun) parachutes are useless . . GTA IV will revolutionize the series and sandbox games all around . . How would it look if Niko's limbs were flailing in all directions while he is floating around in a parachute. Seriously, too many steps back? EDIT: perhaps the mods can make a change to the forums so that eveytime someone types "plane" it gets replaced with "penis" or something. Much like free roaming/pony farming. Plus the planes in SA had a purpose, because they were used in a few missions. Atleast there wont be any stupid flying school missions. Unless there's one for the helicopter, which I seriously doubt. Another thing to consider is maybe R* wanted to concerntrate on vital pieces like A.I, physics, graphics etc rather than add quite franlky pointless things, that are only good for cheap thrills.
