Lets get the obvious out of the way, this game will be savage, but R* has taken too many steps back.

 

First of all i understand why there are no planes it makes sense but will someone tell me why there are no parachutes? why there are no custom soundtracks?(if it was on the first xbox how can it not be on the far superior next gen consoles),and now you cant listen to music on your phone which was a great idea.

all i hear from a lot of people here is sh*t like "custom soundtracks would ruin the atmosphere of the game" that is total bullsh*t it's not like they didnt delay the game for 6 months. surely i'm not alone.......am i?

 

if your gona flame me then please give me crystal clear explanations why.

Some of those features really aren't needed for this game.

 

I really don't understand why they took out the listening to music while walking thing, but we'll see.

GTA games have a tendency to leave all the cool features in beta.

its not like not having those features will make the game less epic and they arent needed. yes music on the phone would be awesome but you can still use the xbox music player or the PS3's. im sure rockstar has a good reason behind it all

Read what people say about the atmosphere of LC. Too many steps back? You're bitching about the ability to listen to music and planes?

Nah man, I mean, Rockstar go to all the trouble to put certain music in the game (and I bet most of its dope , they always do the business) ..but then why would they want to let people just go ahead straight away and be able to change it? Wouldnt make sense.

old snake, I feel you. I didn't even know they took the phone idea out, that was great. Parachutes being taken out was a completely unnecessary decision. Something tells me you're not even going to be able to fly as high as even the San Andreas limit, and it will be like Vice City which was something that really bothered me.

 

I'm not really irked at custom soundtracks though... since you can stream music from the Xbox dashboard.

Im fairly sure that we've all jumped to the wrong conclusion about the phone being taken out. I'd wager money on there still being the feature that lets you listen to music on your phone, just not custom Mp3s. I know its been written about but I'm still hopeful

fair enough about the soundtracks. but parachutes should stil be in it Niko could learn about them in flying school like cj did. besides when did gta iv be about realism.that reminds me, will there be schools for driving etc..

Hey - all I'm saying is you're bitching about minor stuff without looking at the big picture. I feel I have to defend R*. After all, they've put all this work into making a great game. Go read all the boring ( ) interviews with R* reps where they describe the amount of work people have put into this game. But no, there's no new screens or new features revealed so f*ck it. You can't see the wood for the trees mate. And hell no, Euphoria and graphics would not make the game for me. Do you want me to list the endless amount of features Rockstar have implemented to make this game a winner? Atmosphere, ambient sound, story line, character depth, a new weight to the world, an overall brilliant feeling to the game. Little things like listening to music on your cell and planes being removed should not warrant criticism of R*.

I really don't understand the desire to listen to music while on foot. Whats the point in creating an immersive environment for you to experience if you just intend on drowning half of it out with music ? Having the radio in-car is perfectly adequate for music, and adds a nice contrast to when you are on-foot.

 

I also have little need to add my own music to the game either. The soundtrack is always a big part of any GTA experience, so why would you need bring your own back-catalogue along ?
