Hi,

I haven't had the RROD but whenever I put in a game, after about 10 minutes, it freezes. What should I do? Send it back, hope for the best, or ignore it? suicidal.gif

clean the disk your playing ?

or turn ur 360 off by the wall and blow like mad into the disk tray when open, (dust could be on the laser)

Possible overheating.

Is there a clear airway for your system to "breathe"?

If not, I highly recommend moving it to a wider open space.

If you don't, you'll have bigger problems, a.k.a RROD.

I always have it on with a lot of room in a cool room with my window open.

There is room each side for it to breathe.

One thing, it is in front of a radiator. That wouldn't affect it now would it? I've had it there for ages, since I got it. dozingoff.gif

sorry to say it bud, but you are in the process of getting the RROD.

Time to get another 360 unless you wanna wait a month or 2 to play gta.

I had exactly the same thing happen with my 360. I noticed it froze alot, tho I'd be playing games for about an hour or so..

Time starting getting less, starting freezing more frequently then one day.

Whilst playing Just Cause. got the RROD. It fixed it self after a few hours of leaving it turned off but the problem returned after a few minutes.

Gta IV King

My first 360 did that. Eventually it won't even start the disk... This is because of dust... The laser has dust on it, therefore won't read the disk. So either get an air can and spray the sh*t out of it or ring microsoft, and lie saying it's got 3 red lights... (otherwise they won't repair it)

Games I own:

GTA IV/SA/VC/III, COD4/3/2, Gears Of War, Battlefield 2, Counter Strike, Bio Shock, Halo 3, The Club, Frontline: fuel of war, Rb6v 1/2, Army Of Two, Guitar Hero 2/3, Forza 2, Far cry, PGR 3/4, Spiderman 3, Colin Mcrae Dirt, Saints Row, Fifa 06/07/08, Oblivion, Amped 3, G.R.A.W 1/2, Crackdown, Skate, Dead rising, Sonic, every Lara Croft ever made (I've always loved it since the first Tomb raider)... Won't include Xbox 1, PS1/2 or N64 games because it'll take all day to write...

Oh, yes I'm a geek...

Well if you have it at a radiator that could certainly be the problem.. what were you thinking? biggrin.gif ofcourse a machine like 360 needs clean Cold air.. not clean heated air wink.gif try moving it making sure fan on back/sides have nice cold air to breathe .. if it doesnt fix it I suggest call up MS see what they think.. oh I heard standing the console up instead of laying it down on floor works too..

no standing it up breaks it you want to keep it laying down and for ventalation keep about 8 inches all ways

every time I google "RROD" xbox 360 errors, especially in youtube, it starts off and the person has their Xbox 360 positioned vertically!!! Every single person!!!

I think it has something to do with that. Keep it laying down horizontally. Lots of ventilation. Don't play it too much.

ps3 user all the way

Fan boys?

Mate. We are just trying to give this guy good advice.

If we were fan boys, we'd say, junk the 360 NOW and get a ps3.

If he were to upgrade and get an elite, at least that way he'll have a console to play gta on.

Missing out on the game for a few more months is just... unthinkable!

I dont know about the US but here in NZ, it takes a WHILE before microsoft returns your 360.

I've gone through that process twice and thats why i only play on the ps3 now (except for exlusives like Ace Combat)

I give my 360 the least amount of use because im always in fear of the RROD.
