Jops
Alderney City So, considering Staten Island wasn't put in the game I'm going to assume they didn't recreate Bayonne which means Alderney City probably = Jersey City Jersey City isn't small, and even though its a "borough" (area) contained in the game I could only imagine how big it actually is... So, have you been assuming this all along or has Alderney just been generically labeled Jersey without regard to which part of Jersey it could be? Leo Colt
Yep it's been known awhile now, especially after the HUD shot with the sign. Whether Alderney is a state with an "Alderney City" or entirely a city remains to be seen though (I personally think it's the latter and just called Alderney for short). Jops
Doesn't trailer 1 show the Staten Island Ferry terminal? probably because its a landmark, but its been confirmed that Staten Island is not in the game (which means no bayonne bridge ) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/328542-jersey-city/#findComment-1057849507 Share on other sites

OptimumPx
The city is a combo of Jersey City and Newark that was named Alderney City in the game. It contains both Newark and Jersey City landmarks: Exchange Place Center National Newark Building And as for the city's name: Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/328542-jersey-city/#findComment-1057849647 Share on other sites

I agree, Alderney City is probably going to be pretty small in comparison to Jersey City, probably just a ruddy inner city+waterfront look Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/328542-jersey-city/#findComment-1057849999 Share on other sites
HolyHondaEk4
And as for the city's name: if you look at that screen you can see that the bridge that those cars are on is the Pulaski skyway. Also you can see the skyway from other screens. I think that industrial/port section down there is probably a take on the Elizabeth sea ports. They did add the Lincoln tunnel (Booth Tunnel in the game) so maybe we can see an extension out to Union City as well? Either way Im glad they got jersey city, my hometown in the mix. Hopefully we'll see the Newport Mall Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/328542-jersey-city/#findComment-1057850124 Share on other sites

Southside Dukes Ballas
Im From Jersey..Cant Wait To See How Detailed they made it alderny=jersey alderny city=jersey city simple. But that technically makes no sense because a borough can not have a city inside of it because a borough is part of a city. New Jersey is a state but Alderney is based off of something in New Jersey so I'd guess that the borough of Alderney which looked like the biggest borough will probably have a mixture of cities in New Jersey such as Jersey City, Newark, Camden and hopefully Atlantic City but instead they'll just be represented as areas in Alderney. I said 'the city' not all of Alderney. The southern part of Alderney is urban...the middle to northern part is most likely suburban, and the very northern part is marshland. I'm pretty much positive that there's no marshland in Alderney. Have you seen the leaked map, by chance? I can't post it and I'm too lazy to find a fan-drawn remake of it, but it looks pretty much paved over to me. There might be a small amount of it, but it would be very small. Also, the very south chunk of Alderney is the Acter Industrial Area, which is mostly all factories and refineries and what-not. 'Alderney City' is south of Leftwood, in the middle of Alderney. ... This is my understanding of everything, unless I somehow missed an announcement somewhere. HolyHondaEk4
I think there is gonna be some marshlands. If any of you drive up 295/turnpike heading towards the GW bridge or Ridgefield you will see lots of marshes and water/lakes. Seeing that they would most likely add the GW bridge that goes into the Bronx (Bohan) then you will most likely see the marshlands around that area. And yes that is definately the Pulaski Skyway. I can't find the screen right now but in the distance you can see the skyway perfectly. I JUST HOPE they added the big guy that is holding the carpet lmao he stands right under the skyway on Route 1&9. And in the opening of the Sopranos you can see him It seems like the bridge in the background is the skyway....and that bridge off to the right looks like of one of the train/rail bridges thats by Tunnele Ave. Its just weird how the skyway doesn't curve Edited April 19, 2008 by HolyHondaEk4 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/328542-jersey-city/#findComment-1057850794 Share on other sites
Jops
it could be a perspective illusion but the skyway does look like its curving on the end Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/328542-jersey-city/#findComment-1057852312 Share on other sites
