Movies To Watch Before Release

Recommended Posts

there is also a russian film series called "boomer" (references to a BMW SUV), which seems to be heavily influenced by GTA itself. the protagonist actually is a car that is stolen again and again.

german actually, but i been there a couple of times. the BRAT movies are very good (but russian style, it takes some getting used to), most rentals in germany carry them.

the brother-cousin relation is kinda obvious, aint it?

EDIT: oops quoted myself there, sorry VLA3D

yeah, its amazing really how that mood is captured in GTA IV, its the most gangster GTA ever, really)))

i guess it will be interesting to see how the rockstar-humor will blend with the russian tone in the films, which are very sans humor and all about brotherhood, honor and stuff. russian humor is very cynical!

Actually a thought came through my head, if you'll ever get a chance, rent out this film called "Zhmurki", its the funniest ever but at the same time really gangster

balabanov is good, thanx for the tip. ill check it out. inferring that youre russian, can you explain the "boomer"-films to me, i saw the second one in russia last year and never knew what hit me. i dont understand them! whats with the car? is it evil?

i didnt understand the second film either, but the thing about the Boomer car is that its the car that connected them all, all his friends that died, relied on that car, that car is the only thing that's left for him from his past and its really important to him because he cherishes the moments he had with his friends. the idea of the second movie is that people still live in other people's minds after their deaths and that what makes good people, good people. hope that helps

the 911 attacks......not to pisss any one off but that clip gets me f*ckin jacked up 2 kill sum f*ckin arabs....f*ck al queada....sorry but i just seen a clip on tv a moment ago n thougth id throw that in....get pissed and kill sum peds on gta 4 wen it comes out

Riiiight... (you DO know it was the Canadians don't you? wink.gif)

Anyway, back to reality.

wow, thanx, that actually helps. i saw it with some russian friends in nizhny novgorod. i dont understand too much russian, but my friends couldnt explain it to me neither. it was kinda far out, sitting there with all the teenagers around having a ball and/or crying when the car came on.

there is some connection to gta in that film, i mean with this whole car obsession...

also, the "brother" film with takeshi kitano is very good/gangster. its l.a. though

the great forbidden city!

i hope boomer will someday be releasd with subtitles, so i can solve the mystery. maybe there will be a boomer/car-plot in gta iv?
