Well guess what, it turns out that every game shop near me has taken too many preorders. That means that I wont be getting Gta untill the week after release because I stupidly assumed it would not sell out completly. So basically I just wanted to let all you people who havent pre ordered like me that there is a very real posibillity you WONT be getting Gta on release. Well, lesson learned for me.

lol lol lol lol lol lol bored.gifbiggrin.giflol.gif

Rambone2007

I preordered from Amazon. They say I'm getting it on 5/1/08.

My initial plan was to walk in my local Circuit City/Best Buy the morning of the 29th and pick it up. However, they've been taking pre-orders like mad when they never use to do that. It was always first come, first serve before. Ic ould still probably show up and get a copy but I don't want to take the chance.

If you live in the uk, go to argos because if you go to the site you cant preorder GTA IV and you cant do it in store. i preordered San Andreas from game, qued up for about 30 minsand then found out that they ran outof copies so i went to argos and they had like 50 copies left and better yet the store was almost empty.

I reserved mine at Gamestop back in October. I just went in this weekend and switched my reservation to the special edition with no problem. I'm planning on getting there at around 9:30 pm on Monday to get it at midnight.

Then I'll probably walk to my favorite bar for last call (they close at 1am) and get a drink to calm the nerves, Then hop in a cab and head home to play. I took Tuesday off from work, so I'll be in my pj's with a bottomless cup of coffee and my xbox controller.

I've been planning this out for weeks.

OP: The pre-order online with overnight shipping sounds like the best plan. I would suggest amazon. They guarantee it to be there on the release date and if it's not they'll refund the shipping.

Wow that sucks, Keep your fingers crossed though. Maybe you'll get lucky and not have to wait too long.

To me, anyone missing out on this game is an atroscity sad.gif

i'm almost certain that shops aren't going to sell all their copies in pre-orders. they are alway going to have some to sell over the counter provided you get their early enough. at worst i expect to have to try a few places. i never even had that problem with halo3 and proevo2008 and they both sold like hotcakes. i was asked if i'd preordered, 'No', so they just pulled one up. i'll feel like a complete arse if i'm wrong but i just can't see everywhere in town being sold out between 9 and 11am on release day, even those who may open at midnight. i'm going to sleep all day monday, stay up all night and make sure i'm one of the first mofo's in the whole city to buy it come tuesday morning.
