I havn't seen this touched on yet in either review and I wasn't sure if it had been confirmed or not. Does anyone know if there will be realistic bullet damage in the game? For instance shooting through walls and crates and things like in COD4.

They did say a couple times that more realistic damage can be done to the envirnment but I havent seen anything mentioned about bullet penetration... monocle.gif

I'm kinda getting worried that I havn't heard more about it. They show all these screenshots with cars in them that are just riddled with bullets. Hopefully the bullets can at least travel into the interior of the car, if not all the way through even. It would be highly unrealistic if even a wimpy 9mm round could not penetrate the sheet metal or fiberglass of any unarmored vehicle as well as dry wall and sheetrock.

Edit: GT@F@N, where hase it been confirmed?

yes you can shoot through walls. and also bullet hole size is depending on caliber of the round. some walls can be toarn appart from repeditave gunfire. large holes in some walls by RPG fire as well. one more thing. dont remember the answer. but i hear you can also shoot through people. with visable bullet holes. (and for all you fanboys no it doesent mean you can see through the person.)

Notice how Niko is still standing behind the objects riddled with bullet holes firing away! sarcasm.gif Those screens don't really prove a whole lot.

Edit: I'm not calling all of you who say that shooting through walls is possible and has been confirmed liars, but can someone please post a link or at least tell where this information is confirmed?

would be cool if it was like in cod4 (or similar sistem), when enemy players (online) or npc's (single player) hide behind a crate or thign wall just go MUAHAHAH bang and they die.

From Destructoid:

This was also a great place to show off a pretty vast progression in the series, environmental destructibility. Whether the people we were firing at were the good guys or the bad guys it makes no difference -- they’re going to have to find someplace else to live. We shatter their window with our bullets, tear through furniture, and watch plaster fall off of walls. All cover is not created equal -- one of the drug dealers hides in the kitchen, standing behind a weak pillar that’s being shattered and worn to shreds by our firefight. This eventually exposes a hole in the pillar, and I’m able to target and drop a well placed slug in the dome of my assailant.

Shootouts in living rooms are gonna be fan-f*ckin-tastic.

Destructoid wrote about it in detail. That's probably where he got it.

If destructoid wrote about it then post a link. I just went to their site and couldn't even find anything hinting that they had even played the game.

People need to read that again, or something. It's not that confusing. They describe it in clear detail.

Actually it is kind of confusing... why should we have to tear away at the pillar for bullets to travel through it. I've shot many a tree with my Savage .308win and I didn't have to shoot it 100x to do so. I'm wondering if someone is standing behind a normal wall and you know they are their, can you shoot them through the wall? simple question
