NIKIN Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 In my opinion your HUD is much better than the real one, in fact I think the real GTA IV HUD is utter crap, it looks like a photoshop job, in fact while the minimap looks good, the ring around it also looks crap and pixelated. Looks nothing like the gun Cause it's an icon and not a photo. The whole point is that you can quickly tell which gun it is at a glance, that's why it's kept simple. Knife Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 I think R*'s is better, but not awesome. Your HUD is clearly just a rough copy of previous GTA's. You have the money up constantly which is not needed the majority of the time. The weapon icon should look like the old hud, in a square shape as you have it. The bullets then underneath and the wanted stars could be near the radar, as that shows the radius you need to escape from. So in the top right would simply be the gun icon and the ammo. R* doesn't want it to be a detailed gun because it would end up tricking your eye, at times, into thinking that it is a weapon in the game. This would cause a destaction while playing. The eye is adept to outlines, so that is what they are doing. You all need to trust that R* knows what the f*ck they are doing. Look at this game they made, do you honestly think they couldn'tmake a more "bad ass" HUD if they wanted to? This is all thought out and considered. Trust. UPDATE: Updated with another screen, thanks for all the feedback, good and bad The ammo counter is just too small. Also, time and money should not be there, as they are on the phone. Plus, it's just too simmilar to the old HUD; The space where health and armour used to be looks dumb. Rockstars layout is near perfect, because it's alot cleaner, with no wasted space.
