wictro Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 i bought an xbox360 yesterday, only to play gta IV once it comes out. i did the same with PS2 and San Andreas. never played anything else with the PS2, as the PC is my rig. Now the xbox is getting the same treatment, haven't found any other intresting games for it. did you buy a console, _just_ to get to play GTA IV? or am i just stupid? and no, i havent got extra money. i bought it woth visa, thats already out of limits. but i had to i tought that i'll get the money somehow (to pay the visa bill) bang bang. .wictro Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

wictro Posted April 16, 2008 Author Share Posted April 16, 2008 i got the xbox , as it's kinda half price of PS3 (450$ compared 870$, or 279€ vs 540€ for us europeans) -wictro ps: damn did i feel betrayed, as i found out that xbox live costs 59€ ( 90$ ) a year, just to get online gaming. EDIT: also i got the "halo 3 edition" and found out at the parking lot, that "game not included", had to go back in store to buy PGA 3, so i could test the rig. I've played plenty of other games since then, but I probably wouldn't of discovered games like COD4 and Gears of War if GTA4 didn't make me want a 360. Until I get a solid answer from Rockstar one way or another it will be doubtful. yeh, rather to be safe than sorry. i guess. didn't the xbox 360 have a PC "architecture", so it would be simple to convert the game to PC rigs? i'm too tired atm to search for sale numbers between xbox / PS2 / pc , on San Andreas. But if the PC sales were decent, that would give hope for PC gamers with GTA IV im from Finland, and im drunk and tired as "heck", so please excuse me for lack of punctuation and grammatical mistakes. I don't have high speed internet access anyways, so I could care less about multiplayer for myself. I'll play that at a friends. I am strictly buying it for the single player story. While the xbox will have DLC, it is not too big of a deal to me. While it might be hours of new single player missions, I cannot imagine it having any sort of big implications in the overall plot. Rockstar will be pretty much giving you a full arc and story with GTA without the DLC. I'll just ask what story happens in the DLC and be content knowing, I do not have to play it all. Although getting PS3 instead I might only regret when Alan Wake comes out, but PS3 has Heavy Rain which (even with lack of little info) I am just as excited for as Alan Wake. D- Ice Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 Yep same here, the biggest reason for getting the XBOX360 is also GTA4, but I'm also interested in buying other game later on for it, like BioShock and Operation Flashpoint 2, or Armed Assault (2). But if it wasn't for GTA4, I wont buy it in the first place tbh. Like you I did exactly the same with the PS2 and San Andreas, before that I was going crazy playing GTA3 and VC on a min-spec PC that kept freezing during gameplay. infiniteammo Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 I'm buying a X360 Elite for GTAIV, But I'll also be playing COD4, and R6V2 online with friends, which is the main reason I'm getting the X360 first is because all of my friends have Xbox 360s, I don't know a single person in real life that owns a PS3, and a big factor for getting these consoles is playing with friends online. I'll be buying a PS3 when Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots comes out, actually the bundle with the sixaxis and PS3 with a bigger HDD, and holding my breath for the latest Final Fantasy and the PS3 "exclusives". Personally I like owning the big systems, and the best games for those systems rather than one system and owning a huge lot of games. Works out to be about the same price. Went on holiday , when i got back found out it had been delayed while april 29th. Meaning i could have waited and saved £100. But never mind. At least i've got it now. Other exclusives are FFXIII, Little Big Planet, MGS4, etc. I spent about 2 weeks trying to decide between consoles, but since I've got a nice PC, I went with PS3 since I knew all the 360 exclusives I'd want would port to PC eventually.
