Was the HUD rushed?

Looks to me like a fan mockup, cant believe rockstar put that out looking like that, it looks photoshopped on or something, not such a big thing just though rockstar would have main sure the ui at least looks half decent

yh i totally agree, definitely not one of the game's strongpoints, i know its a little thing, dont mind the radar that much, tht looks kl, its just the random illustrations of the gun equipped, the stars, and the numbers (whtever they are). Being a graphic designer too, they look bad!

probs look better in motion (the map), guns look ok, wanted stars look abit sh*tty but meh, idc, the games gunna be epic.

I just saw the new screens now, and the hud looks slightly better.

It's not "wow" or anything. I just hope they somehow make it easier to figure out if a road is a bridge or not. I always screwed up with that.

Yeah it's a real shame you can't see the reflection of Niko's spartan helmet and perhaps the distance to each target conveniently located above their heads. Also the body armor should be in large fat bars going up the left hand side of the screen.

I like it, it doesn't take away from the visuals of the game. It is nice and subtle and it will work out perfectly.

I found the older HUDs too overdone and 'in the way' of the actual gameplay. The smaller HUD is so it won't distract the eye from the many details found in the game, as everyone keeps saying. I doubt you'll really care anyway once you play the game.

The HUD looks awesome, stop creating new threads pointing out your inability to accept the fact that it has taken a step forward like many other games, and gone for a minimal HUD.

 

This is because:

 

1. People have now realised that certain information is needed at certain times. This is why your money is only displayed when you need it.

2. It allows a much more realistic picture, so you can take in the sites.

3. If you keep bitching about how it looks photoshopped, I'd love to see you make a better HUD with lots of stupid f*cking colours and clogged up information.

I think the one real thing that bugs me is the health and armor bars.

I like how they used to be in San Andreas.

I think they took away a little too much from the star/money/weapon/HUD set up.

I like it. It doesn't distract from the screen. The HUD is meant for function, it doesn't need to be flashy and fancy looking. It's just supposed to tell you where you are, how much health and ammo you have.

Since the time isn't displayed on the screen in any of the new shots, I'd say it's right to guess it will be displayed on your phone.
