Clear Black
Just wondering how many GTA Dads we have in here? I myself am a father of a 9yr old girl. I ask this because I want to know how many of you GTA Dads let your child play GTA? My daughter has played VC and SA. She doesnt do any main missions or anything..mostly just explores and has fun in helios or whatnot. Her fav thing to do is pretend to drive legally...ie, follow traffic and traffic signals etc etc. Now some might not agree with this, but I do think it is not a problem. Hell..my first gaming experience was PONG on Atari or on my Commodore64...if I had GTA IV when I was 9...OMG. So Dads....Do you let your kids play GTA? EDIT: DO NOT.. I repeat DO NOT post replies about what YOUR dad lets you do. I want to hear from THE Dads. You kids in here have enough topics to spam, please leave this one to the elders... Jinamo
Being somewhat young (I think I was 8 or 9 when I first tried the original GTA) I guess I could have something to say, shoot me if you disagree.. Well, as I said I've played GTA for quite a while, played GTAIII around when it got released. At that point I was 10 years old I think. And I'm a perfectly stable human being, and I function in society. As long as your kid knows that it's just a game, I don't see anything wrong with it. Just make sure it doesn't go too far. Just saw your edit.. I'll leave my post here anyways.

Red_xi
my daughter is six, I let her play on SA under supervision. Mostly she just drives around, she won't do anything illegal in the game because "It's naughty", according to her. It says slot if my six year old can make that decision, I highly doubt she will become a psycho !

TORANA74
No I do not. My mate let's his, they are 10. All they do is drive around and crash allot! I don't think they really care about the missions and the violence as they love finding a fast car and jumping off stuff or hitting cars.

inveni0
My oldest child is 3, and I let him play just about anything (in fact, I downloaded Mortal Kombat 2 today). I was really hoping for split screen on GTA4, but oh well. http://youtube.com/watch?v=TpYVDZpeRVM ^ done with cell phone...so poor quality
WellsMcK
Tee Hee Lol you make yourself sound like an old man when you say leave it to the elders. My dad lets me play GTA because he knows I'm mature enough. He watches me run from the police. But this game is so far from reality he knows it can't mess me up.( I'm a good kid, I get good grades. I had a 3.8 GPA earlier in the year.) I mean come on i fly airplanes around then parachute and go get a car, shoot down a helicopter and go drive around from the cops. Me and my dad used to play Driver 1 and 2 together. It's just a game, I honestly don't see anything wrong with letting your kids play it. If you restrict them from playing they will try and play it. It is more tempting to do something when you know you can't.

gamefreak1978
hi ive let my 2 kids play sa numerous times my son is a pest tho keeps asking 4 weapon cheats everytime he dies lol my daughter thinks shes a taxi driver lol thing is she sticks to the traffic signs etc lol i dont think its damaging to kids anyway. i mean imagine if when mario was released people said it supported animal cruelty could entice kids to jump on turtles heads lol i blame pc for whats happening these days. video games dont make serial killers scitzophrenia etc does. murder is in these people from the day they are born. sorry for my ramble lol

I grew up on Mortal Kombat 2 for sega. Been playing M games since I first started playing games, and i've also been able to watch any movie. Except once when I was like 10 or something, and my parents said I could not watch 8mm with Nicolas Cage with them because it was supposed to be very bad. But I was watching Pulp Fiction, Die Hard, Predator, Terminator at a very young age and I've grown up just fine.

rollingstoner
I get the fact your talking to only dads but I can relate. My niece is 9 and my cousins are younger. When they’re over at mine I let them play GTA, bully etc. They tend to do silly things anyway. Like when I let my cousin play bully all he wanted to do is go to the safe house and sleep, don’t know why, kids are stupid sometimes... just look at these forums. I think its my job as a uncle to introduce them to cool things and let them away with stuff. I sometimes let my niece watch family guy, kind of like her playing GTA she dose not get most of the humour anyway. Anyway what I’m trying to say is its good for your kids to understand the difference between what’s real and what’s not, and they understand its just a game, which they do anyway. All my best memories from when I was that age and younger where on the commodore 64, and the Amiga later on, playing games watching TV and movies I was not supposed to. I don’t think I was scared, and I don’t kill people.
