Slamman
Stupid questions require a stupid answer....Why would I care about those gripes? I think they meant breaking the window before you get in if you plan to shoot out of it.... Pay n Spray fixes broken windows. If you in fact have to break them out, no biggie. This is not Grand Theft Simulator 2008 from MicroSoft... There won't be accurate portrayals of all events known to man
Infinite08
Because rolling down windows is for women. I lol'd
inveni0
The only answers that seems fair. Everyone else seems like theyre just coming up with excuses to disagree. I know alot of newer cars have dim lights on all day but MOST cars dont so being able to toggle them on and off makes more sense IMO. I mean its more realistic to turn your lights off before doing a drive by and if I want to stake out someone or follow them it doesnt seem realistic at all to watch a target from across the street in a parked car with the headlights on. Not too stealthy. How many cops have you seen staking out a criminal from a parked car with the headlights on? As for breaking the windows from the inside, I think its corny and I actually never heard or seen a person do that in real life or in a movie, cops or criminals. Maybe the windsheilds and rear window but not door windows. They either have them already down or roll them down right before action. The ppl saying its faster to break them than roll them down sound pretty silly. How long do you think it takes to roll down a window? I'm sure R* could make rolling down the windows take about 2 seconds which is about how fast it will take to break them. As for car customization, I'm only asking for a rim shop to go along with the paint shop. I mean I read that some of the same vehicles will randomly have different rims. I feel its much easier to have a rim shop. ex. say I have an Escalade with chrome rims. If I want gold rims I have to steal another Escalade with gold rims already on it. Why when I can just take that same Escalade to the rim shop and change the rims? Basically, if theres no way of personalizing the vehicles then they're pointless to keep. Why save something when there will be tons of the same vehicle driving around? I'll chalk this up as everybody sees things differently. If ALL cars have their lights on, then yours will only seem out of place if OFF. Breaking windows from the inside to shoot out is awesome. If I wanted realism, I'd do this crap in real life. But I want to feel awesome. (Lots of movies show the breaking of door windows--Karate Kid anyone?) Finding that Black Escalade with Gold rims is PERFECT reason to save it. You may never find it again! I think they only added customization to SA so that you'd have something else to do with your money. In IV, there's not as much money, so no need to give you something to blow it on. I think they're really trying to change the way people have come to play GTA so that IV doesn't feel like the others. Slamman
Do people 'roll down windows' if you have electric motors doing the work? I only had one car that required manually rolling them down, that was a GD chore! The lights dimming rather then off, I think I have to get used to the game before I can figure out the reasoning and what it all entails

tooji
At your first question...Incase you did'nt know your lights are on all the time when you drive a car, you just put them brighter at night.
NedStark
He's got a point with rolling the windows down why the f*ck smash it? Not to mention for all you cavemen out there that on modern and not so modern cars so you can roll your windows down quite fast with the pressing of a simple button. Edit: baileyhay beat me to it... In alot of new model cars and alot of older european cars (all my MB's from 95') it only takes one relatively forceful push of the button to roll a window down all the way. Maybe the breaking the window thing will be context sensitive.

I understand that ppl like different things but when ppl say another persons idea is stupid just bcuz they dont agree with it annoys me. Whats wrong with it being an option? Tap the button to break the window or hold the button to roll it down and up. As for the Escalade with gold rims example, I disagree with you inveni0. If vehicles spawn with random parts then there WILL be another vehicle just like it somewhere else. Now if I was able to customize it somehow then THAT would make it a vehicle thats hard to find and worth saving. When I get a few free minutes ( ) I'll make you a comprehensive list of 430 movies that include shooting out of broken car windows. I loved searching through GTA3 and VC looking for the perfect car. Being able to just steal anything and go fix it how I want isn't interesting for me. The thrill of the hunt is exciting for me--especially in GTA4, since stealing cars is more difficult. We're gonna have to wait for the right time to pounce. It's gonna be like a video game version of Gone in 60 Seconds.
