UndergroundKing
1. Why the hell did R* make it so we toggle vehicle headlights between dim and bright? Doesnt it make more sense to toggle them between on and off? 2. I think its pretty dope to smash the windows to get into the car and steal it but who the hell smashes windows from inside of a vehicle just to shoot out of it? Whats wrong with rolling down the window? 3. I understand that adding alot of customization options to vehicles is a bit much for this game with all the sh*t going on in it but why couldnt we at least have a rim shop? We can change the paint color with Pay n Spray. They couldve at least slipped in a rim shop. Oh well. I'm not complaining. I'm actually satisfied about what the game has to offer so far and have already paid for the game in full. I'm just confused about a few things. What you guys think? kaotik
2 and 3, I don't know, seems like a non-issue to me. For 1, that's fairly obvious. Any new vehicle has automatic headlights, meaning, the headlights are on all the time, get brighter when night falls, without you having to do anything, but turning the brights on requires you to do so manually. By making it this way in the game, they've made it more realistic.

Kradzz
I wondered the same thing actually, I mean has anyone actually attempted to smash a car window before? What you guys think? 1) Maybe flipping on your high beams will blind the car in front of you and cause them to crash? 2) When someone's shooting at me, I'll smash the window (if it isn't shattered already). If I'm just shooting for fun, then I don't care about the window. Smashing is cool no matter what. It's just a pretend car anyway. 3) They're just pretend cars. You sound like you'll get into GTA4 and actually think you own some tricked out sports car. But I've a feeling that me and my rocket launcher could snap you back into reality. 1killadude1
ANSWERS 1. who cares if you cant turn em off? I think its better that you can turn on the highbeams because maybe you can blind people that are in front of you or something like that. 2. I think they should have made it so if you press the button once he rolls it down, and if you press it twice Niko just smashes it. 3. I wish they had car modding because i loved making really cool cars, but its not as needed now because the cars in GTA4 look cool even when they are stock so R* didn't need to put it in. lepoisson
In regards to 1 and 3, answers given were fine. My answer, R* made it fun and put a TON of stuff into the game, modding a car that has full damage physics is kind of ridiculous. I agree that smashing the car window is awesome. However, if one does a quick search of "smashing car windows" or the such, it's clear that it's pretty damn hard to smash a car window. This is the only reason that I am annoyed with this feature, just because it breaks away from realism. Al beit, it's for gameplay sake, which is fine and follows R*'s school of thought. Just thought I might point that out, for all the people that think it's as easy as just throwing an elbow at the window. Go ahead, try it in your car*. I can bet money that if you just throw an elbow at the window you *MAYBE* will scratch it lol, otherwise you'll probably mess up your elbow/arm pretty bad. *I am not to be held responsible for any injury to yourself, or damage to your vehicle, if you are dumb enough to do this and then try to sue me. Here that, I am not liable!

CrazyJim
1. Because you don't need to drive with them off. Nobody's ever snuck up on anyone with a running car. uh... tell that to the thousands of people who get killed in drive by's every year. I think they should have made the option to turn on high beams , dim , and shut off all from pressing 1 button.
UndergroundKing
if i had a penny for every time i saw a topic named "WTF" the answer is no EDIT: and why do you want a rim job? No doesn't really answer any of his questions properly... Anyway: 1. I think while the ability to dim headlights is fairly useless (in my eyes anyway), it's actually a nice little feature to have. 2. I agree. 3. I also agree but I can't say I care that much that it's not in. The only answers that seems fair. Everyone else seems like theyre just coming up with excuses to disagree. I know alot of newer cars have dim lights on all day but MOST cars dont so being able to toggle them on and off makes more sense IMO. I mean its more realistic to turn your lights off before doing a drive by and if I want to stake out someone or follow them it doesnt seem realistic at all to watch a target from across the street in a parked car with the headlights on. Not too stealthy. How many cops have you seen staking out a criminal from a parked car with the headlights on? As for breaking the windows from the inside, I think its corny and I actually never heard or seen a person do that in real life or in a movie, cops or criminals. Maybe the windsheilds and rear window but not door windows. They either have them already down or roll them down right before action. The ppl saying its faster to break them than roll them down sound pretty silly. How long do you think it takes to roll down a window? I'm sure R* could make rolling down the windows take about 2 seconds which is about how fast it will take to break them. As for car customization, I'm only asking for a rim shop to go along with the paint shop. I mean I read that some of the same vehicles will randomly have different rims. I feel its much easier to have a rim shop. ex. say I have an Escalade with chrome rims. If I want gold rims I have to steal another Escalade with gold rims already on it. Why when I can just take that same Escalade to the rim shop and change the rims? Basically, if theres no way of personalizing the vehicles then they're pointless to keep. Why save something when there will be tons of the same vehicle driving around? I'll chalk this up as everybody sees things differently.
