There are a bunch of different multiplayer modes, but we were only going to check out a few of them. Becuase they feel they don't want to waste time building ina SPlitScreen when they are more likely to get people to play with a Multiplayer. Plus they forget that people like to play with people they know, Not people across the world who you co-op with and they can be utter retards. I'm well aware it may be hard to implement but I'm pretty sure it's possible. However if they couldn't do proper split-screen then surely split-screen online play would have been a definite possibility (see Halo 2 or any other decent Xbox live game for an example). Why would friends want 4 separate consoles in 4 separate houses when you can all hang out at one place and play? Just like with Halo, that is some online split screen greatness. I play online at my friends because, unfortunately, where I live I am stuck with dialup even though someone 3 miles from me has DSL. Oh well, I'm just screwed there. I thought this would come under the online multiplayer section on the rear on the box? I think some mutltiplayer modes will play like missions , like Mafia work( not sure ) and Hangman Noose ( 4 players against AI ), where you have to complete several different missions with the same people.
