I dont know if you guys have seen the trailers for mafia 2 or not but it looks like it could potentially blow GTA IV out of the water.

i really dont want to be flamed here guys i am not a fanboy i will be at eb games on midnight to purchase gta but i think mafia just looks absolutely incredible except i dont understand one thing about the game takes place in the 40's/50's so why are the graphics so bright? when you think that time period you think dark and gloomy especially with the mafia.

ok thats my 2 cents about it.

I think it's bright cause the mafia don't have any control over the weather. The game looks pretty damn good, but I don't think it's got the sheer intensity of detail it'd take to beat GTA4.

yeah, but the weather and look of the game really sets the mood and brightness makes me think happy. I dont know maybe i make no sense.

Both games i will purchase. I think "blow Gta out of the water" is never going to happen. Booth will be great. Also a 10/10 says Gta is going to be hard to beat. I know that's just one review, but you know.

Mafia II looks badass, but just because they have guns, crime and cars, doesn't mean its going to be the same. From what I've read they're looking at a more linear, movie-type experience (which would be awesome if it came off), not the sandbox thing GTA's got going.

Jesus F**king Christ, when are people going to stop with:

?!

Not very soon what with the health experts breathing down our necks about eating 5 a day.

But anyway, they may not be the same, but you can still compare if you want to. If I only had enough money to buy one, I'd be comparing.

Mafia will always be a sandbox series, but more story driven then GTA.

As for it blowing it out of the water..

we don't know.

Theres a million of these threads already...this has been debated to death. suicidal.gif

Why would you want it to be dark and dreary? The people in the Mafia were living the high life. Alcohol was legal again. Things would be looking good.

It's made for PC, therefore it is bound to act better on a PC, than a sh*tty IV port. As for gameplay, I cannot say.

i agree these two games will both be great in their own way. Mafia 2 is set in a totally different time period...M2 will not effect GTA salees and viceversa . i will be getting both of them too.....prototype is shaping up to be a decent game. and i hope that This is Vegas will be good too. Lets make threads on each of those comparing them to GTA now! suicidal.gif
