Rambone2007
That would be awesome if you could steal a police uniform and impersonate a cop. I really couldn't see Niko being able to be recruited into the police force, though.

agincourtsalute
In past GTA you can work as a policeman. (when you stole a police car). Does the word vigilante mean anything to you! I think you will be able to do vigilante missions through the LCPD data base in the police cars.
team17
It is a possibility to join LCPD. If you remember there is a mission where Niko uses a fake resume to get a job interview. It could be the same for the vigilante. After all this time around you can't start a taxi mission by just getting in a taxi, you have to go to Roman's taxi depot, same for everything else? nyaren
The police side missions are started by getting in a police vehicle and accessing the computer. There are two types of missions - reported crimes and a most wanted list. They both involve tracking down a suspect (or several) and killing them, but the crimes are random. The crimes are also timed - you must reach the target within a specified time, but then you have all the time you need to take them out (e.g. 45 seconds to locate a suspect fleeing in a vehicle, but as long as you need to take the vehicle and suspect out or allow them to escape). The most wanted list targets are not timed, and the suspects are "crossed off" the list. I'm not sure what happens when you complete the list. Probably another list. C'mon mate, you can't just make a fake CV and join the LCPD its not like getting a menial clerical job. The reason he can earn money driving one of Romans cabs is because Roman lured him there in the first place and its his cousin. Also vigilante missions will be activated through the in car data base fact.
