So I would personally rather have a PS3 over a 360 regardless of what anyone says, but every one of my friends will be playing on 360.

Do you think that playing online with friends is a more valuable feature than the differences between the consoles? (Which for me is mainly the fact that I have always used PS and am used to it)

I would personally get an xbox if all your friends are getting GTA for the xbox also. Would be 10x more fun if you'r playing with RL friends and not just random people biggrin.gif

It's a choice. You can meet new people on PSN or you can play with your friends on XBL.

If it were me, I would get what my friends are getting, No not because i have a 360 but because its a different experiance playing with the people who you have grown up with.

The only 2 gamers I'm mates with own 360s. I knew that when I bought my PS3. I have a few E-Buddies who own PS3s though, so I'll just play them.

Not to be declared a Fanboy, but I will be anyway.

Xbox live is robust and stable. IMO its the best format for online console play ( I have played PSN too, it was ok, but didnt match up ).

The concern I guess is more over the hardware, the 360 is prone to RROD.

Online play with your friends IS more important IMO.

Well if you already have a PS3 then it's not worth buying a whole new console. However if you have neither then by all means get a 360 if your friends have 360s. I'd love to play online with my friends but none of them are into GTA.

What don't you like about PSN? I've played buth PSN and XBL and in terms of stability I don't see much of a difference...the only difference I see is that XBL has more to download but also costs more.

But its different with RL friends. You can be playing them while talking about stuff thats happend while you were out in town or whatever, talk about the game when you're chillin with them, you're still socialising will your OWN group of friends (Not E-Buddies).

E-Buddies just can't stack up against your own friends.

EDIT: If anybody has played SA-MP with friends on the PC, you will know how funny it can be taking chase from a group of people all over the map, escaping together and watching eachothers back. Then at the last second, when your about to die, you take them out with well placed headshots and win the battle. Then the next day you say to your other friends "Awww man! You should have seen the sh*t that went down yesterday....". Just not the same when its with some dude from 2,000+ miles away that you have known for like a day.

Being used to Playstation versus playing with your friends is a no-brainer in my opinion. There is really no weight to the Playstation side of this argument.

Absof*ckinlutly , when i first got my 360 not a single one of my friends got one, i was playing MP on my own, making eFriends and all, but in all honesty, it doesn't match the sheer goodness of playing with real life friends. Or even, not friens, but people you just know a little at work etc, strangely enough it's a good way to socialize.

In the end, if i had to get a game that has so big MP part, i will buy it for the platform that most of my friends will be playing on

I experienced alot of voice issues in game - for me playing online is truely a community experience - if I can't talk ( and banter ) with my comrades then whats the point?

The bigger server with no lag is a benefit on PSN, but i just think the paid for service of XBL is of a better quality, and because its paid for, there is a financial customer >> supplier relationship. in the event of an outage, M$ have a contractual commitment to get it fixed.

I am not saying Sony dont care, but they would be under no obligation to the users.

I agree the content is a plus too - I deliberately didnt highlight that as ANY opinon expressed in favour of one or another usually gets you pidgeon-holed as a fanboy. DLC etc seems to be one of those explosive phrases...

I have both consoles and can tell you console wise 360 is better for online. Yes you pay a measly 50 a year but that money goes on quality servers for you to play on. When playing on the ps3 games are quiet and not to many players communicate. On xbl you threaten someone if they dont stfu smile.gif

You pay for xbl because the service is good. plus thier is 20x more content on the market place.

O. I never really use my my to talk so I never noticed anything about voice problems.

Even if it's free they're not just gonna leave a big problem unfixed because no one is paying. Their reputation and sales would go way down.

Yeah I agree on that last bit...anyone who says DLC is basically starting a fanboy war tounge.gif

I have couple of IRL friends who will play GTA IV on Xbox 360 -- I will play some random matches with noobs smile.gif

If your IRL friends have Xbox 360s, I would say you buy Xbox 360, but if you have couple of PSN friends, you stay and getting closer to them.

there s no real difference in the systems, cept for a color pallete change and the 360's DLC content. so, honestly? I'd have more fun playing with my friends. get the 360

EDIT: I do not mean to start a fanboy war, I myself hae a 360 and am getting a PS3. I'm not a fanboy one way or the other, I am merely stating the difference beteen the two.

Most of my friends have 360's and so do I... I hate playing without them. It is hell of a lot more fun to play with friends. If they all had PS3's then I would have bought a PS3. But if the slight difference in the consoles is that big to you, then go for it. But playing with friends is my favorite part.

RL friends all the way. Mind you, I've only got a couple of friends buying the game, so I'll be playing with a bunch of MSN people too, but they're still a much better choice than random strangers.

What you on? No real difference? The 360 has in game DASHBOARD out of the box. ps3 needs an update for in game XMB. The 360 market place has a crap load more content such as HD movies you can dl to your HDD, a sh*t load of themes and gamer pics, and a vast amount of demos, game content and Arcade games.

I have a PS3 and none of the store content is appealing. Hell you can dl South park TV shows on the 360. Now you know wh xbox users pay for the service and content. ITS GOOD!!!!

Get off this forum until you learn to read and follow a topic, not just look for every chance you can to spout fanboy BS. yes, the 360 marketplace is more developed then the PS3's. get over yourself. since it seems you could not grasp the original the topic, let me enlighten you. the only difference between VERSIONS OF GTAIV is a cooler color pallete and DLC content
