I predict ring tones, maybe by ringing or texting a number. Or off the in-game internet.

I'm guessing you will have to pay for drinks etc when you go out with contacts.

I hope you can't buy cars and motorbikes, I think its the crappest idea. Ever.

i dont see why it would be crappy - it would add to the realism of the game - if you want to buy a car instead of steal it, the option is there for you.

 

i too was personally hoping that you can go and buy a car etc, being able to talk with the car dealer to get him to give you a test drive of a car, and never returning with the car - just one way to steal a car instead of having to obtain the car by force.

 

also another thing - id like to see that you have to obtain a fake id in order to do such a thing - something like increasing your finesse skills, lockpicking ability etc.

They removed fitness etc because it would intrude with the story line too much. Which is true.

 

One of the achievements is get $500,000. So obviously its alot harder to get money on this game, im sure people won't want to waste it on buying cars.

I thought cars would be a good idea too, but preferably rare or unique cars you can't just go and steal off the streets. If you ask me, there's no real incentive to collect money if you have nothing fun and expensive to buy. I want something to lust after, to spend the whole game saving for, and finally when I've got the cash... buying and feeling like I've really achieved something worthwhile.

 

Speaking of achievements, like the above poster said, one of them is "Build your bankroll to $500,000" or something, so if you're gonna be saving that sorta cash there's gotta be something to do with it other than spending $3 a time on hotdogs.

maybe have it to where if you buy a car its always available to you at your "safe house" or "house" whatever you have in this game.. Say it'll be in your garage if you go out and wreck it there will be another there when you go back or some such.. But in the others you could just steal a car put it in ur garage and save.. Maybe they'll change that. Cause the dilletante movie says the car is 39,999... So maybe they will sell cars or its just another funny movie.

I totally agree. Previous games have been lacking in this departments IMHO.

 

There's only so many times you can visit a hooker and watch the car jerk from side to side or buy guns and ice cream factories...

 

Bring on the (paid for) entertainment, bring on the special cars, bring on paid off police and politicians (bribes, bribes, bribes)...

 

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. There are surely some sex lines that you can call that will surely waste some money (if you are the desperate kind!)

If i steal then i get propably 1 star and the unique cars are very hard to find..1 rewiever said you have to search 10 hours to find very unique car...If i buy it then i dont have to search and its one place where we can spend our money..If you dont like the idea then just shut up because you still can steal cars and people who like to buy then they can buy cars.You dont have to buy if you dont want but if they put it in then everyone is happy...Buying cars dont bother people who like to steal..Its a cool feature i think..get over it

I would love the ability to go to the local car dealer and buy a vehicle. This would definately add realism to the game. I love the freeroam in GTA

Anyhow, there has to be so many purchasable items in this game.. It is a must and I agree with those saying car purchasing should be fine whilst it is not going to bother people who wanted to steal car instead of buying a car.

 

It's not about being a hardcore fans of GTA who want it all brutally, but see it as a GTA lovers who wants improvement and want to have something different in each GTA series.

 

Because I believe GTA will be just another boring saga without any new improvement in every series they release.

I guess it could work either way. Just finding it on the street would be a nice surprise, but having it sitting there in a shop window (un-stealable, no cheating on this one ) would give you something to drool over, seeing it up so close and not being able to have it. It'd be a great incentive booster.

Not being able to buy a lot of different things is definitely the downside of the GTA series. The houses were expensive in the most recent ones, sure. But IMO they felt kind of lacking as purchases. Now, if you could buy FURNISHINGS for your house(s), that would be way cooler. Imagine getting some money from a mission and actually being able to go to a store and spend it on a TV, computers or a pool table or dart board or arcade systems. Even if you can't fully use them I think you should be able to make your living space LOOK lavish and see some fruits of all your work/thefts.

 

Guns are a necessity, as are multiple safe houses to some extent. And I can't speak for everyone but SA was the worst about spending money. Who needs to buy guns when you can get through a gang war and end up with 1000 AK-47 and Micro bullets and fresh armor.You ended up with hundreds of thousands in unspent cash. Sure it's nice to have it all, but how unrealistic is it to have all that money and not get a nice house and buy a bunch of cool stuff to put in it. Being able to buy cars is a great idea, and I think the ringtones are pretty cool too.

I would like the ability to buy a car, i wont, but i want the option to buy one. this is a sandbox game after all and who is one person to tell another one how to play the game, the whole point is to play how you want.

 

I see it as X-2 or X-3, i played a few missions then build a galatic empire and ending up owning 150+ stations and 500+ ships.

 

did i finish the game? no. do i expect some users not to do anything but drive around and not do any missions, Yes, am i am not going to tell them that is wrong, and neither should anyone else.

If any people here have played Saints Row, the buyable car idea on that was amazing.

 

The way you never really saw the uber nice cars, but you could buy them for alot of money, which was actually hard to come by, really gave a sense of achievement when buying them.

 

and the fact that after playing 20+ hours you would see 2 of like, the rarest car in the game, and not be able to catch up with it really pisses you off, so being able to see it and like, think how awesome it looks, then go and buy one is just... cool.

 

I just hope there isnt money cheats, as i think that'd ruin the whole game, the temptation to just pop the cheat in to get that extra $2,000 for a new car....

 

But yeah, More OT - I'd love to be able to furnish your house, but this isnt sims, i think i heard talk of buying a new phone in the OXM review, might be wrong.
