Sjoeter
damm it doesnt say if they tv can do that do you think it will work still cause in australia we use PAL can you change it? well my old tv had an button on its remote that put it in NTSC mode (i live in holland and there PAL is the norm) and when i play an NTSC DVD the collors are normal and the screen displays correctly i think they mean that. if you play an ntsc something on a pal tv the color's can turn black/white and the resolutions all weird
TenEightyOne
You can change it IF YOUR TV SUPPORTS IT, which many don't. Or, mod the output device (in this case your console). Otherwise, thank your countrymen for allowing all those years of Howard-esque uber-conservative madness.

doa kappatango
Tv and Console. Play-asia stuff is NTSC but region free - that means that Games I have bought for my PAL xbox 360 have worked fine. That said, my TV can handle NTSC input as well.
Red_xi
All HD tv's can handle ntsc input, they automatically switch to 60 hz. Now about playasia.com it sucks that they wont ship ps3 games to the UK, why god damn it !!!????
TenEightyOne
It's a bit of a minefield matching a TV to a need because you never really get to try them in the shop. When I used to sell high tech AV and music gear we used to do back-projection TVs (bet that takes a few people back...) that handled NTSC and PAL, but they did this by simply having TWO sets of gear linked to the same projector. Nowadays there are boards that can handle the inputs by converting them to a digital image and then remapping them to the screen appropriately (esp. plasma and lcd because every image has to be mapped anyway). Add to that that TV manufacturers interpret specifications for input and output in a fairly diverse way and you have a nightmare. That said, if you have a TV that works with an NTSC demo then it IS LIKELY that everything will be fine, providing that the console accepts the disc (i believe that play-asia discs are not region locked, so should be okay). SerenUnderdog
damm it doesnt say if they tv can do that do you think it will work still cause in australia we use PAL can you change it? on 360 you can force the display on PAL even if the source is a NTSC signal. Check the serial number of your TV on it's manufacturer site to see if it display NTSC. If not or no info, try to read about converting NTSC in PAL signals on PS3, i dunno about the PS3 so i can't help
