Will we be able to connect our ipods to the box and listen to music within GTA? Its pretty common these days, I think.

btw, Hi, I'm Vic (not Vicky) and I'm new here... smile.gif

Harris GTAIV

Of course, why wouldnt they? I'll probably stick with the in-game music for a long time though.

im pretty damn sure that you can because i have yet you play a 360 game that doesnt let you turn on your music while playing... besides if you have ever played SA vice city or III on the regular xbox, then you should know that all your music that you saved in your hard drive becomes different stations in the car radio. for example if you put a whole lupe fiasco album and a whole linkin park album in your hard drive... then each album bacame a different station in the car radio and you were able to roll through the tracks of the album and play your songs through the car radio... very cool feature i would have to say.... hope that helped Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

Wow, It works on radio, so it wont block out all the other sounds going on?

Well, who's right n who's wrong??

The Xbox 360 usually supports music playing in-game via media centre extender, iPod or music put onto hard drive. So I'm guessing you can do what you can normally do on Xbox 360 games and just press the guide button and choose your music source from there.

Oh, and I'm new too, my name is Josh. biggrin.gif

nope it wouldnt block out all other sound... so if you "accidentally" ran over a pedestrian then you would be able to hear them scream and what not. and yea just through the car radio and if you hot out your car and went back in then the song would start from where you left off

yeah, it will work. It can be included as an in game radio, or it can work like with any other game on 360, using the dashboard player, the game will mute the ingame music and only play soundeffects/voices etc...

But i really think it will be included as a personal radio

Thought this was already confirmed as "no"

How would they confirm cutting out a basic 360 function that works with any single game so far? It doesn't even depend on the game, what the game could do is integrate it like in Testdrive Unlimited

you play the music through the XBL dashboard/ingame blade. You can play music from any usb device or stream it from a computer, or if its save on your harddrive. This is all FACT. The music will only go over the games music and not the sound effects or the talking in the game.

Yeah, but it's not the same as having it as a radio station. It still sounds pretty fake compared to the in-game music.

...and just because VC and SA had it on the Xbox, doesn't mean it'll happen on the 360. Since it became standard for music to play separately off the dashboard, they've stopped integrating custom soundtracks with the game in quite the same way. Fingers crossed though, it would be cool.

There won't be a mp3 radiostation or something, but like others said, on the 360 you can always play your own music by pressing the xbox guide button and choose a source (usb/network/hdd) The ingame music will automatically be muted.

I don't have the source right now, but I'm pretty certain it was confirmed that:

"Custom Radio Stations" (play your own tracks as if on radio) is NOT included.

"Custom Tracks" played as background music from dashboard on Xbox 360 is likely to remain an option.

Apparently Rockstar worked hard to create the atmosphere and each track was chosen specifically to suit the overall theme. They would prefer we don't break that by choosing our own music. If I were cynical I might suggest this is because they will likely sell more tracks through Amazon if we constantly hear them on the radio, but whatever.

This also explains the recent confusion when the supposed MP3 player on the phone was reported to be only a radio on the phone.

I'm personally not a fan of playing music from the xbox dashboard in GTA and prefer it as part of the in-game radio. Although I understand that R* might want to restrict how we customize the game they've spent so long crafting. At least for a while.
