Veteran mision& Starting save for strong players

This is starting save for strong players!

+ New starting location

+ New Gang Teritories

First mision - go to CJ house and survive. 4-Star Gang Wars.

Okay, I'll bite.

 

Interesting start location. Looks like a cleo save point; CJ's direction will always face north.

 

Ah, changed pickups, but these are the only two I've located so far.

 

Map needs a kick to get the gang wars on the map - weird bug, but not sure what to suggest. I'll pass on the Balla bait and head on home.

 

Regular selection of vehicles so far, jacked something fast and split the gap between restricted zones on the way home. Nothing other than the usual along the way, but I don't have a good view of the detail.

 

Gang attack triggers as soon as CJ hits Grove Street.

 

1st try - in Willowfield, not far from the Cluck'n Bell - game crashed soon after zone was defended successfully.

2nd try - defended a zone in East LS, nothing unusual. Game didn't crash when I investigated Willowfield.

 

The save description promises 4-star gang wars, but no gang territories are observed in SF or LV. In fact, I think all gang zones can be taken over without triggering 4 stars. Maybe I'm missing something here.

 

Impressions: Interesting idea, but not quite enough to get me hooked just yet. I was expecting a bit more of a challenge right out the door. Last save was Ryder, so I've missed two missions already. There are other methods to open the stores. So, are you done with this save, or do you have more changes in mind? I might be able to help you with some the technical challenges of crafting a custom starter save.

 

Added: Found a moved bribe, but others seem to be in the default position. Perhaps moved to assist with 4 star returns.

 

Gang wars enabled in country towns, but zone type is still country so gangs don't spawn. The country towns seem deserted. Very few cars or peds spawn.

Interesting trick with that moved pickup. I had to take a second look to make sure I understood properly.

 

And damn cool trick with the new safe house. I may have to borrow your idea if it holds up under more testing. I was expecting the new house to close after a burglary mission, or possibly in the early morning, but I started and restarted the burglary mission many times and the door never became locked. I kept messing around until morning kicked CJ out of the neighbor's house and still the new safe house remained open. My experience with Dating doors is that they become locked after the 1st date if the save is used with default IPL files, so I'm surprised by this result.

 

Aw, not really fixed, but the country towns are back to normal. I was expecting the zone type to change to one that supports gangs, but then you've got to fiddle with the unknown ped byte to get fairly normal ped and car density working. It takes a while to balance all the settings. You've got the same problem in the rich neighborhoods in the north of LS. It's possible to lure gang members into that area in order to start a war. And since Richmond and Mulholland are right next to fully working zones it shouldn't be that difficult to take the turfs. Still, I like to collect nice cars from that area, and the place is practically deserted.

 

Oh, and sorry. No saves to share. I'm still poking around and testing. Are people suppose to take turfs and complete mission and send the save back for someone else? If you want to start something like the chain game I'm afraid you are going to need lots of rules. It confused people when I tried to start the chain game without a lot rules but the other player quickly made up a whole bunch. There's something comforting about the rules I guess, let's you know you are doing it right or something.
