What do you think the hidden packages will be?

Riiiiiight. So, despite the "almost official" confirmation we've had about the pigeons being a challenge of some sort, you decide that shooting stray cats and dogs is a more probable candidate for package collecting. Makes perfect sense.

all that has been confirmed is that you get stats for shooting the two hundred pigeons in the game, not that they are the hidden package. I suppose they could be, and might have misstated my earlier line, as I just realized it has not been confirmed the pigeons are not the hidden packages. but, in the new UK OXM review, they say they won't reveal what the hidden packages are, and since they've already mentioned the pigeons, I somehow doubt the two are one and the same.

I don't think it was OXM that ever mentioned pigeons previously. All they said is they make a noise and fit well in a modern city... still sounds like pigeons to me.

I believe they were the ones that first shot the pigeons on a hands on, I believe. I'll hafta find the article to be sure though.

given the description of the packages relating so close to pidgins it only makes sense

Makes the most sense than pigeons. Because if they were hidden packages you could theoretically never finish them. You'd find immigrants in sewers, subways, under bridges, maybe in a few buildings. There is potential.

I reserve judgement on wether the hideen pacakges are the pigeons or not, but I honestly doubt the packages are the pigeons since OXM revealed you could shoot the pigeons and that was a stat and then later said they wouldn't reveal to you what the hidden package is. it makes me think it's something different, aye?

wasn't actually a parrot, I think it was part of his shirt.

Well lets see, that link has all the Achievements listed, Endangered Species is 50g and is "Collect all the hidden packages" Now for it to be an endangered species, it must be an animal that you will mostly wipe out to extinction, which leaves out Immigrants since there can be an indefinite number of them.

 

That leaves animals, and the only animals we've had in game were Birds, now OPM during their hands on, shot a Pigeon and it brought up 1/100 Rats with Wings killed, and now the OXM UK Review is saying that with the nod to Crackdown, you can hear your Hidden package when you're close, and it fits in with a modern city. The only thing I know that fit in with a modern city is Pigeons. Being that LC is a parody of NYC pigeons work out great as they are like a landmark in NYC.

Im just trying to speculate. It'd be kind of asinine of them to make the hidden packages moveable. Pigeons are pretty reasonable too, as immigrants move as well, I just felt it to be a bit more in tune with the overall theme of the game.

All the hidden packages have been directly linked to the gameplay's storyline at least vaguely.

I really doubt it'll be pidgins. You've been able to shoot birds for a "out of 100" stat since Vice City. It's in there, but it's not the hidden packages. Do you think there will only be 100 birds in the whole city? When your done with it, you'll never see a bird again?

How about breakdancing B-boys? You could hear there boomboxes from a distance. They used to be fairly common in NYC, but now you'll only see the same few crews, like they're an endangered species or something.

Basically. Like seeing a marked car with a guy in it. You then jack it and have to get it to a certain location.

 

That makes noise, is fun to collect cool looking cars, and fun to do.

i dont think those are the hidden packages. my guess is maybe mp3 players. when you get close you can hear faint music

This is a good topic, for a change, hadn't seen one earlier on the subject. I always go after the hidden packages because it allows you to seek out all the various corners of the game. As well as add some bonuses under your belt too.

 

JUST thinking about this task has got my craving the game like a madman right now. ... Excrutiating waiting.

 

I can't begin to guess what the HPs will be this time, should they go back to Tikis as we had in Vice?

You long timers might recall when we saw the first screen shot from San Andreas showing the Tiki club with it's large Tiki overhead? For a long time with Vice City, I had no idea what they were supposed to be.

 

In LCS there were of course the Ronnie James Dio "metal" hand gestures \ii/... which I found rather amusing... They seem to go anywhere when you think about it, with the shape they choose.
