Slamman
I would expand your WHO listening to include the DVD/LaserDisc of 35 years of R&B! That one is amazing, then add The Kids Are Alright to that collection, and...then add one of my favs, celebrating Roger's 50th birthday. Daltrey Sings Townshend... it's a disc from 1999 so it's heavily pixellated, but so enjoyable you'll gladly forgive the flaws...well, I did because I've never seen it properly released! Details on that are Concert @ Home Series, Daltrey with the Julliard Orchestra and playing with Phil Palmer.Simon Phillips on drums, Dino Palledino on bass (he played on David Gilmour's About Face video (CBS-Fox), John "Rabbit" Bundrick is again on keys, as well as Jon Carin (also of Floyd fame), Jody Linscott, as well as Michael Kamen conducting. The Chieftains play on Baba O'Riley as well as After The Fire!!

Slamman
I don't see how, I touched on 3 that I find I go back to again and again. <?> I finished watching Quadrophenia and the film really let me down! The album and the live show are the ways to enjoy it, And I REALLY hate to say this, I wanted so much more from it, to be honest.

Slamman
I had some pre-conceived ideas about the film, but never bought it. I took some time before enjoying Tommy as well... I don't know if a movie can ever match an album, especially when you've read up and down on the band in question. It's a good film, but seems so short and the story didn't really build much. The album seems to have more depth to it. I was listening to the new Stones album BiggerBang, comparing it to The Who's Endless Wire, it's clear Who's better! So to speak! I think when the Stones came out with Voodoo Lounge, or even Dirty Work, the songs were stronger then the latest one. I had Mick Jagger's Wandering Spirit by my bed, playing it a number of times, even that one has better songs then the new disc. The new Endless Wire is an odd collection of stuff, but it REALLY does grow on you and I think they better not stop with just that album!
Lt. Dan
To muuuuuch the Magic Bus! Or something like that. Yeah, the Who kick ass. Live at Leeds is one of the best albums ever.
tommy vs. claude
Teenage wasteland!BUMM BUMM! It's not Teenage Wasteland. Why does every idiot think it's called that? And the film was good, but nothing special.

Mainland Marauder
Teenage wasteland!BUMM BUMM! It's not Teenage Wasteland. Why does every idiot think it's called that? Just because it's an oft-repeated phrase in the song, which has a name that does not appear in the lyrics. What can I say though, it's a classic. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."
Slamman
Like with Zep's TRAMPLED UNDER FOOT!! I never knew the song's name or the lyrics as well! haha Also, I had to ask someone about Cream's BADGE! That song kicks total arse! One of their best.
Slamman
***BUMP** in the nite! I read in Rolling Stone magazine that T. Bone Burnett is working with the Who on a vintage cover album with some new stuff planned as a possibility. T Bone worked recently on the Robert Plant/ Allison Kraus album pairing I noted at the record store today. The Who plan to do songs of the 60s that influenced them and they hadn't touched on before. This is rather good news that they are going to put another fresh album out!!

Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
So, am I the only here who actually watched the VH1 Rock Honors The Who? It was f*cking Awesome. Foo Fighters, Incubus, Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, and Pearl Jam each played 2 Who jams, and they rocked the hell out of them. Then The Who came out and just ended it beautifully. All through the show they aired insights into the band, from the band, so it was like a concert/biography. And those are the kinds I love. I especially loved Incubus' and Pearl Jam's performances. Incubus really did a great job with I Can See For Miles. Pearl Jam dominated Love, Reign O'er Me, great performance. When The Who, Roger and Pete, actually came out, I was all ready. They did My Generation, Who Are You, Baba O'Reily, etc. The Who performed a lot of their stuff, some of which didn't air. I wanted to hear The Seeker...But they performed Behind Blue Eyes which was pure awesomeness. This show reaffirmed my love for this band.

Hahaha I am not picking which is best, that's up to the listener, it's all subjective you know!? AnyWHO, that song BADGE off the Cream Live DVD has some flatout amazing guitar from EC! I bought the Isle Of Wight on DVD recently (used of course) and the updated Townshend interview at the time, he puts down his band numerous times, but I hope it isn't lost on fans that this is good natured PETE Humor at work, they always poked fun at themselves and never got that serious vibe. This is where Celtic Frost went a stray with their Cold Lake, an album panned by the public, yet, it was said came about due to the serious nature of the band and it was coming to blows, so they let off stream with a silly album fitting with the trends of the time. I still found things to like about that, but Tom Gabriel Fischer is more of a Beatles fans so it's not a great comparison
