10 reasons why not to buy an Xbox 360.

M.G.S. is not coming to XBox360 and it's the last in the series I also read... if not mistaken. The magazine previews of upcoming games is VERY promising for PS3 but it's not exclusive to good games or cross platform driving sales like GTA4.

 

Well all of the previous MGS, with the exception of 3 I believe, eventually went to other consoles. I can wait for info, have Fallout 3, Fable 2, Prototype, SW The Force Unleashed all to look forward to.

 

EDIT: Also several other games I am sure, including Spore and the tech demo of Mercenaries 2.

No, I don't care about the PS3's Blu-Ray drive, I have a Blu-Ray player. No, I don't care which is more powerful, the PS3 is also more powerful than the Wii and yet Mario Galaxy > everything I've seen on the PS3 (personal opinion). Lastly.. after using a 360 controller for the past 2 years, the PS3 controllers just feel so ancient, it's like holding a Genesis controller again. I can't believe you people still haven't worked out that you only prefer one controller because you've used it more.

Unchartered is interesting, but the reviews have called it short so I don't believe it is really going to sell the console to me. Very much like Escape from Butcher Bay, great game but made me a bit sorry I bought it whenever it first came out whenever I should have waited and gotten it cheaper.

Game consoles are about the games. PS3 has sh*t all in the games department. Its like owning your own private Plane and jumping around going "look at me!", but you don't know how to fly it.

1) Yes, because we need extra space when it's not needed and waste money making all blu-ray discs 50GB's. HD-DVD accomplishes what Blu-Ray can't, compress and function properly. You don't need 50GB's of space just for a game, it's retarded, as most are less then 10GB's to begin with.

3) Doesn't work everywhere... Like the desert.

 

4) Well, you're half right with your opinion, XBL is a tad pricey, but it's one of the biggest online communities outside of PC gaming, next to PSN, plus from what I've seen, XBL servers tend to run at better latencies, but I don't know for sure, so I can't really prove that.

 

5) Classic reason. No one gives a sh*t, it's a console.

I bought my Xbox 360 7 months ago and it runs silky smooth.

LEFT 4 DEAD is xbox 360 & PC EXCLUSIVE made by Valve, coming out this september. 4 player zombie co-op survival fps.

 

 

NO ps3 game will match this.

Actually, I've brought this up before, but in the long run the PS3 is a bad investment. The Cell CPU is so different you have to learn how to use it correctly to run your code, and the PS3 the only popular platform to write on that uses the cell. Once you spend all this time working with the Cell what about new hardware. You think the cell is going to carry over to future platforms. Highly unlikely. Microsoft made the right decision to stick with standard, proven, simple, common CPU hardware. Any game programmer should have no problem using it. Don't just take it from me, Gabe Newell (from Valve) says this too.

Not saying the PS3 is a bad console, doesn't really matter with me, but saying stupid sh*t like the things you listed is bad and needs to be corrected. Also from what I've seen they are ruining MGS4, everything I have seen, has changed the "tactical stealth espionage" style to your basic shooter where you can hide in barrels which for some reason can be used like a bulldozer. MGS1-3 are all great titles, but MGS4 isn't looking so good, but the game isn't finished, but nothing impressive so far.

But there are plenty of games that have more quality and greater quantity then Unchartered, thought I will be interested to see if after the series is finished on the PS3 if they make a trilogy collection or something.

 

On to the argument for time and not rushing the games in relation to the PS3. I do agree that obviously whenever a company takes its time that the product should be better (Key word being should for plenty of products, games and other media, have taken tons of time and amounted to things that are less worthy then sh*t...although sh*t is also manure and so forth). The problem is that the companies need to strive for profit and not necessarily artistic creations. So a majority of game developers strive to go multi-platform or they go strictly to the 360 for the installed base. Also, there are mechanical advantages to both systems.

Exactly... MS simply stuck with last generation sh*t. Thanks for supporting the PS3 by saying it's more advanced. Of course developers will have a harder time with it. It's new and they're not used to it. That should happen with every console generation change.

Blu-Ray will indeed be a successor to HD-DVD but it isn't any better then anything we have now, it's just public conception that it's the newest thing and that everyone has to have one. Wow, you don't know a thing about hardware do you? You don't make the most "advanced" sh*t for the sake of making it. When you design hardware efficiency is highly important. The cell is one of the most inefficient platforms to work with, it's a programmers nightmare. If it wasn't for Sony, IBMs "experimental" cell CPU wouldn't have been touched, as a programmer myself I find working with a platform like the cell a pain in the a**, it's more than just hardware/capacity. GTAIV is working on 360 hardware just fine isn't it? Hardware doesn't count for sh*t unless there are games, and it's easier when you are working with simple (simple isn't bad) hardware.
