Ok, today I was thinking about how much I regret owning an Xbox 360 and wish I had a PS3.

I want to help anyone out who is considering buying an Xbox 360 just for Gta IV. So heres my 10 reasons why not to buy an Xbox 360 over a ps3:

1. Blu ray = HD Movies, 50g games

2. 60g hdd

3. Built-in wireless

4. Free online play, Xbox live isn't worth it.

5. PS3 is more powerful

6. Xbox 360 is guaranteed to break within the first 6 months of owning it

7. One year down the line, companies will work out the PS3 and will produce better games.

8. One year down the line, companies will give up on the Xbox's 8g DVD and lesser power.

9. Bluetooth 2.0 built-in

10. Grand Turismo, The getaway, Formula 1, and many many more...

So come on... Is that extra 30 quid/50 dollars worth it?...

Correct me if i'm wrong, please...

P.S Please don't lock... It's the truth...

Faaaaannnnnnnnnnnnboooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

...and bad troll.

Get over you self, PS3 doesn't even let you have a friends list like Live. Don't like 360 and the fact its just better, don't get it.

BTW, the Wii is dominate in sales over the PS3, proven fact. $600 is the thing that's not worth it, not Live.

LOL! Are you serious cause its $250 for the console and like $50 for the game.

I have a sh*tload of friend on ps3 and I beleive it holds more then live does.

Its not better bro. how is 10-15% failur rate better then 1% from ps3?

DDR Midian,

How is my name immature? Because its the system I bought it for. I bet you would find ity immature if it was 360? oh yeah I guess stating the facts is immature huh? oh well. TW this retarded topics are popping up everywhere on this forum so I dont care if I get banned. f*ck the mods and f*ck the admin!. I got 2 weeks left till GTA IV. Ban me ya pricks!

heh. the failure rate comparison right here, honestly? it's wrong. the 360 has been out longer and thus the actual overall failure rate can not be compared, suffice to say, for the number of each system out there, there is actually a HIGHER PS3 failure rate overall

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/gaming/xbox-360...lers-271487.php

http://www.ripten.com/2007/07/03/failure-r...s3-less-than-1/

I can post more sources if you like

about what? you're just changing the subject since you failed so miserabily about the 2 previous one

you're just a retarded fanboy that has nothing constructive enough to bring to the forum, you should really click the X on the upper right you know?

Most people will end up buying a blu-ray player now anyway. Get a PS3 instead of a blu-ray player and you can have an Xbox 360 also. Fan Boy War declared officially over.

i would do that, but i don't know, i have bad memories of my PS2 hardly being able to play DVD, even the slim PS2 with the new firmware....

Maybe i will if i can read a good and well done review about that feature alone

Well i've got a handfull of blu-ray movies and they all play fine without any problems at all, only thing really was that HDDVD kept getting more bonus features e.g. 300, etc. Those days are over I'm afraid. As it's connected to the internet you can't go wrong as when there are advances made with the technology, as recently with java; the firmware updates are improving performance and features all the time. It's the best most supported blu-ray player available on the market in it's price bracket.

XBOX 360 may not have everything, but its still the overall best choice at the moment. However, if you are looking for a blu-ray player, look no further than the PS3. I only have the 360, which kicks serious a$$ because it will get exclusive GTA content and Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 this year...

Lol, I didn't bother to read the whole thread, but I figured I might as well throw my first two cents in, and this is as good a time as any to make my first post.

My point of view on the whole console war is that it is unabashedly stupid. BOTH (or rather, all 3 if you count the Wii, lol) consoles have their ups and downs. I personally bought a PS3. Here's some (real, unlike the topic starter's) reasons why.

1. I prefer the game line up. Both systems have a lot of game overlap, but where they don't I will take the PS3 games over the 360 ones. I love Gran Turismo (5 is do out this month), Metal Gear Solid series, and that's the two games that are exclusive that I care about right now. (there's more out there).

2. Built in Blu-Ray player. While the prices on Blu-Ray players are drastically dropping, Blu-Ray has, in most people's eyes, come out on top in the format wars. I like this format better then HD DVD because it has the ability to include much more data, making most software more stable in the long run.

3. Built in Wi-Fi connectivity. I like not having to hook the PS3 up to go online, my house has wireless internet. (I'm going to admit I haven't looked to see if the 360 has this, but I don't recall it having it).

4. Free Playstation Network. Yes, LIVE is worth the 40 dollars. But, I like that the network is free for the PS3, and that it allows developers to put together what they want as far as network lobbies and such go.

5. Built in Blue Tooth, very handy for mics and other later peripherals that you might want to use. Blue Tooth seems to be the dominant short range wireless connectivity standard right now.

6. I like the PS3 controller better, the 360 always felt odd in my hand. Minor detail, but I like to feel comfortable when playing. This is just personal preference.

7. Home theater capabilities. As a poor college student, I like that I don't have to go out and buy a Blu-Ray/DVD player, and stereo system, and that I can also browse the web at my leisure on the TV if the mood strikes me.

8. USB memory stick options, SD card slots, I think I'm missing another memory slot too. This is great if you want to put some tunes on the PS3 to play in the background while studying, or anything else. Or to put pictures onto the PS3 that you want to show off to friends on a bigger screen. Or to even move your save data for games around (so if you play a game at a friends house for a few weeks and decide you really like it, or your friend has a bunch of stuff unlocked you want to use, you can just pop in a flash drive, put the data on it, and port it over to your system.)

Don't know if anyone will bother to read this, but hopefully it'll give some reasons that don't sound like fan boi only reasons. And, finally, the 360 has some great games on it, but HALO just doesn't do it for me! And I will concede that at the moment, the 360 has perks over the PS3. You guys can list those yourselves...

P.S  Please don't lock... It's the truth...

1. Blu Ray loads slow, yeah that's about all I find wrong with it. No big deal.

2. k

3. Because the cord that comes with the 360 is SO horrible.

4. That's just ignorance. Xbox live is great. I think the millions of happy members would disagree with you.

5. In some ways, but you just sound like a person who's uneducated on the subject. More than me, even wow.gif

6. I've owned mine for a year and a half with absolutely no problems. There goes your guarantee.

7. You THINK. They SAY. Things change. But yeah, I personally agree that they will start getting good games. EVENTUALLY. But I want to play good games now, sorry.

8. This isn't even worthy of mentioning, it's so stupid. But for the sake of completeness: You have no idea how the market works.

9. Ok...Didn't you basically mention this in 3? <_<

10. Cool, some decent games. I can name far more than that which I'm looking forward to on the 360.

There, I corrected you because you were blatantly wrong on many of those.

Also, I really have no personal problem with the PS3, It's a good console. So is the 360. I just happen to prefer the 360 because it appeals to my personal wants. People can enjoy whichever they want.

Hooray for freedom of choice?

Or do you support communism? cry.gif

And on a final note about your post:

When you don't know something, that's ignorance.

When you refuse to look at facts, that's stupidity.

thanx , that's mostly what i hear from anybody that really use their PS3 as BR player

I might get one, i recently watched my first flick in 1080p, and it was really bad ass, since i have a full HD TV, it would be a miss to not play 1080p films on it

cheers for the review mate

I have a 360 right now, but this is why I am going to pick up the MGS4 PS3 bundle. I think this whole fanboi war thing is stupid because I am a fanboy of both, and saying that one system is better then the other would make one of my purchases a waste, which niether are tounge.gif

Yeh, mm kay. Ive had my Xbox for a year and a bit now and had no problems with it. So your so called guarantee is an obvious lie. >.>

Agreed. Hit the nail on the head. Each has advantages that the other one doesn't, and to me it seems that most posters (here anyway) are of the younger age group who have had some assistance buying their consoles (and who also have their parents foot the $50/yr for the XBL).

Whereas most of the ps3 owners are of an older demographic who can afford the extra cost of the console for the convenience of blu-ray and built-in wireless.

I don't own either console, and have friends who have both. From an objective standpoint, I prefer the ps3. Better controllers, no swapping batteries, HD-DVD is dead, plus the ps3's looks are tits.

To each his own.

I have a 360 right now, but this is why I am going to pick up the MGS4 PS3 bundle. I think this whole fanboi war thing is stupid because I am a fanboy of both, and saying that one system is better then the other would make one of my purchases a waste, which niether are tounge.gif

u are talking sence unlike some people on this topic icon14.gif

It's the best most supported blu-ray player available on the market in it's price bracket.

thanx , that's mostly what i hear from anybody that really use their PS3 as BR player

I might get one, i recently watched my first flick in 1080p, and it was really bad ass, since i have a full HD TV, it would be a miss to not play 1080p films on it

cheers for the review mate

It would be a shame to have a 1080p tv and just watch dvd's even if they are upscaled. Blu-ray players are really coming down in value so you're probably better waiting and seeing, but if you are really into any of these titles like MGS4, GT5, FF XIII, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Tekkan 5, Silent Hill 5, God of War 3, etc then getting one sooner and not missing out might be a better idea.

Why do the Mods let garbage like this go on? Seriously.

This is nothing but fanboy garbage coming people who can only afford one console, so they put down the other to justify their choice.

I have both 360 and PS3, and both are awesome. End of story.

Ronmar The Only

Wow, 7 pages and this has not been locked. Now I admit I have not read through the seven pages. Was watching something on how much of a joke intelligent design was for one school system.

Anyways, I have had my 360 since the January it came out (one of the 'launch systems' I believe for I still received the free media remote) and it has not broke once. I will say, the 360 would have been better suited if it had a HD DVD or Blu Ray player but things could have gone quite wrong. Just think if your flagship system supported a failed format...the only way that 360 or Sony could have guaranteed victory was if they supported the same format. Since they didn't, Mircosoft didn't wish to take the chance and Sony looks good for they did.

But it doesn't matter. Sony's machine is not the best it could be, which is one of the reasons that the 360 still leads the hardware war with Microsoft.

Would I buy a PS3? Sure, I will probably get one if I see that MGS4 is never coming to 360 and wish to spend that money on the game and then Blu Ray movies for there is not another reason for me to get a PS3.

EDIT: To the comment below, it is not guaranteed to fail. Some do, just like whenever my PS2 broke. Did I cry, hell no. I packed up my PS2, sent it in, and got it fixed for free just like a majority can do with the 360.

#10 is the only one that matters to me and I don't like those games. This "many many more" game sounds rubbish also.

so you dont care that blu-ray basically kills piece of sh*t HD-DVD and that the PS3 is way more powerful? and besides i think 11. should be the fact that 360 controllers SUCK

Their folks have to help them buy the game so yeah, the 360 owners are on the young side of the equations. I'm sure this is fact, not choosing sides, it seems common knowledge the PS3 is seen as more expensive though when adding features they tend to balance out. Paper route for cash? That was my first job actually! colgate.gif

M.G.S. is not coming to XBox360 and it's the last in the series I also read... if not mistaken. The magazine previews of upcoming games is VERY promising for PS3 but it's not exclusive to good games or cross platform driving sales like GTA4.
