CCPD
As majority of posts here I want an advice on building new PC, instead of buying some crap one from Dell or PC World. But I don’t actually want to build it myself. The reason is that I have very limited knowledge about hardware, and I constantly see and hear about guys burning their brand new PCs, because they miscalculated something. Mainly in cooling or compatibility area. What I want to know is, if there are some small shops or companies or websites who build your PC to your budget instead of you. They put everything you want in, but do all the necessary hard work. Do such services even exist?
[CTD]LaBan
Yeah, they do exist where i live (Estonia) and i've already bought a nice custom laptop from one of those companies. Edited April 14, 2008 by [CTD]LaBan
Voodoo
If you have a university in your area, you can probably find at least one or two small shops near the campus willing to custom build for you. They are also great places to get advice as they are usually staffed mostly by IT students.
Fozzy Fozborne
The two that spring to mind first are Cyberpower and I Buy Power. They'll put exactly what you want in a PC and send it to your door. There are other services that are similar, check google for PC Builders.
BuffaloSoldier
Cyberpower is a great company. They really know what they're doing and they help you build on a budget. I'd recommend them to you any day.

jelly
Here. It's simple, like putting together a Lego set except more cables. If I can do it, anyone with five or more fingers and a functional head can do it. You don't ruin a PC by having limited knowledge about hardware, you ruin it by thinking you know everything and being in a hurry to put it together (which I suspect the people you heard about were guilty of). Sounds like you're off to a good start by being open about needing to learn.

GTA3Freak-2001
Usually the best idea is to find a reputable local PC store, you do the researching on the parts you want and ask them to build it. Its how I had my current PC built. The key is finding a reputable store though, as you can get ripped off and or not get the parts you asked for. The only reason I've gone this route is because I am not good with my hands, I have the knowledge but don't trust myself to carry it out without incident. If you can building it yourself would be more rewarding.
Saget
That course on how to build computers was really rewarding, now I just buy each piece of hardware from the place I want and put them all together myself. I like to do things myself, so I don't have to pay someone to do that for me, and be worried about how trustful they are. But since it doesn't look like that's your case, well, look for a store that repairs computers. Maybe they build it too. There's a store here that does that, they have the part of the store where they sell the computer stuff, and a little computer lab, where people bring their computers to be build or repaired, that is, if at least one of the components was bought there. You must have something similar over there... |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|

CCPD
@ GTA3Freak-2001 - That’s the problem here. Those few that I managed to find looked too dodgy. They had overpriced crap and didn’t look the real deal at all. @ Saget - I also like to do things myself, but in this case I just can’t be bothered to go extra mile. Plus I can’t afford to make a mistake since I’m really low on financial side. Sometimes it’s better to let professionals to do the job. Now that I think of it professionals built the Titanic, and amateurs built an Ark. @ vininfinite - Yeah, that was very helpful. @ pcguytech_2005 - I also discovered the very same website few days ago. You have any information about its reputation? Thanks a lot for all the help. I might delay upgrade until I will improve my financial status and the next Windows release.
