Need to check English text for mistakes...

GamerSuper

Recommended Posts

So we made our project (it's concerning GTA).

But I'm not native English speaker. I gave this text to person who have been living in USA already for 7 years. All should be perfect but if there is a mistake.. text is very formal and important so there shouldn't be any mistakes.

Any Americans, please PM me if you gonna help me, it's very important for us. The project is for XBox 360.

Text is not long so it wouldn't take much time to check

Well...

Forgot who originally made up the language?

Germans?

Whilst English is of mainly Germanic origin, .. no. wink.gif

American English and English English are the same, except the American's have put Z's where we would put S. It can't be more obvious that "English" is native to the English.

Yeah, the Americans spell it "Englizh".

And adding unnecessary u's to words like color.

They aren't unnecessary. To me anyway, "color" would be pronounced "kull-or", yet I spell it "colour" and pronounce it "kull-er".

American slang is way f*cked up. want to is wanna. going to is gonna.

S is Z.

I'm pretty good at grammar...

...like most Indians.

American English isn’t better or worth it’s the same language with few differences in pronunciation and punctuations. Just as in all other English speaking countries. Each of them has their own accent and few minor differences. American pronunciation is a lot better though, since they pronounce every single letter in the word. monocle.gif

That has nothing to do with slang.

Anyway, just paste the thing here.. it's always better for several people to proofread a text.

CCPD: English is far from having a phonemic orthography like Finnish or Serbian.

I can't believe you people are arguing about this again. England's english is better because of Austin Powers.....who was really an american...Therefore American English is better....i think mercie_blink.gif

What it has to do with anything? mercie_blink.gif

It's got English because it was 'developed' in England. Not rocket science, really.

Accepeted, even we Indians have a different accent. Indians in India speak differently from those in the US or UK.

I meant American English sounds clearer. What the hell Finland or Serbia have even to do here. mercie_blink.gif We talk about differences of English language in English speaking countries. sly.gif Also, I think it turned into a debate topic.

Well...

I speak 'cockney' get your f*cking marshmellows round that.

Bloody oath, no need to get yer knickers in a twist...alright mate?

Aanyways, CCPD, I think he meant that Finnish and languages with the same origin are somewhat more clearer because every letter is pronounced. That also means they are easier to spell.

What I meant is that American English sounds more clearly. It has nothing to do with other languages. I have no idea why he started to talk about Finland and Serbia. I guess he misunderstood me.

I asked him to PM me the text, but it looks like he's gone now.
