Fact is this : All the store's have sold out online pretty much. That was well know on or around the 8th. Amazon will have completed a stock reconciliation to find out how many of their pre-orders they could guarantee to fulfill. You happen to be after that cut-off. It would not matter which site you ordered from. GAME, HMV and Gamestation have all stated orders placed after the 7th April were not guarunteed. Stop crying. Just get into town early and try your luck. Oh, and learn the lesson - everyday is a school day.

Dackiiweed
Its only a couple days after, not such a big deal, think yourself lucky. Since some people don't even & have never had a next gen console, those people possibly might not even get to play GTA4 this year, so just bare that in mind. The 1st of may isn't worth crying about. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Dude, I pre-ordered IV back in JULY and it's been telling me to expect the game's arrival May 1st for the longest. You got the same deal.
RaverRyan
I ordered my copy on the 15th march and now it says 7-13 May as an estimated delivery. I'm not pissed off that much though. I've been saving up, but as I have a social life, I couldn't get £35 till march time, which is when I preorderd it.
MysteryGamer
This pre-ordering business can be annoying but it's only because most of us want to be glued to our television sets on April 29th playing this game. I placed a pre-order with HMV.co.uk for the Playstation 3 (Special Edition) for £60.00 with free delivery. They have been great with delivering normal orders before in the past and customers services say they will send out my order in enough time to arrive for the launch date. Oh well if it arrives on the launch then great if it doesn't then not much I can do about it. The regular copies are the most popular for the launch date but at least there is still an option to get the Special Edition which is still available on most websites to pre-order with delivery on April 29th I mean if you truly want the game on the release date getting a Special Edition might be most peoples only real choice if they left it late to pre-order, thats how it's looking anyway. It's just as well I wanted to get the Playstation 3 (Special Edition) when it was first announced because they are still available to pre-order and aren't in so much demand like the regular copies. It would be too late to get a regular copy at this point anyway. Edited April 14, 2008 by MysteryGamer

jstw
I pre-ordered on 11th April it still says delivery for 29 April 2008 - 30 April 2008. Also if I have it delivered to home does someone need to sign for it or can it just go through the letterbox?

DDR Midian
Amazon doesn't really try very hard for release date delivery. Not being a dedicated gaming website, they don't know how incredibly desperate gamers can be to own the game from day 1, hour 1, and don't put in the extra little bit of effort some other sites do. What websites do put in the extra effort for videogame deliveries for the release date? I don't mind switching my pre-order else where because I would like the Playstation 3 (Special Edition) which are more widely available compared to the regular copies, they are not selling out. So I don't mind changing my pre-order I have enough times anyway now SuddenSight I suggest you try your local WH Smith (I am sure there is one near you) most people probably won't be rushing up there to buy the game which gives you an advantage. Well it was just a thought.
hawkstorm182
not Amazons bad service - there is high demand for this game - you should have pre-ordered earlier.... Its a good service that they are letting you know Very well said, it has nothing to do with amazon's poor service as those who pre ordered before 8th will get it on release date. Should have pre-ordered earlier I am sure you are not the only one realising this now, so amazon.co.uk does not suck as Myself and many others have received pre ordered games on release date if not the day before it is not like it costs anything to pre order from amazon so it does baffle me as to wh ypeople don't do it much earlier and save themselves the hassle and worry. I honestly didn't but perhaps I was naive. Other people saying "you should of pre-ordered" for those who left it late doesn't help really. I am sure they are aware of it. I remember before Halo 3 came out they all went into work on a Sunday to make sure every single pre-order was sorted and packed, ready for shipping first thing in the morning. Sadly, they have stopped taking pre-orders for all versions of GTA4.
