Yeah i see the pigeon, and i know it wouldnt be constant pigeon noises, but think about it, they say they make a noise when you get close. There wont be 100 pigeons in the whole city, there will be tons, and you get the rward for killing 100. Therefore the sound, and the hidden package has to be something else. I think it will be a phone or something, maybe you hear a ringing and you have to find a person carrying a mobile phone or kill them or something, im just speulating, but im 99% sure the orbs they are talking about will not be the pigeons.

I am 99% sure it will be the pigeons, because Rockstar's chosen a new approach to GTA. And that is a more realistic approach. One hundred mobile phones in the city that noone else would pick up, would seem a bit out of context.

 

If I was on foot, chased by a couple of cops, it would ruin the action experience for me if there was a spinning cd or a constantly ringing mobile phone behind a bush. Or it has to be The Phone, a Dutch tv series about a phone just put in a random place, waiting for it to be picked up by a contestant that has to dial 1 if he wants to win 25.000 euro. I don't know where you live but in London they walk around in tribes like a gang waiting to snatch your big mac or something...

Also i'm no expert on birds of the feather kind but i can't say i've ever seen a pigeon in a harbour/sea before, maybe that is a seagull?

You definitely have got a good point there, but I think that is the case. I could not find any other flying rats on the screenshots after a quick browse.

Those achievements were already confirmed. Also Assassins Greed was mentioned in the OXM review.

Plenty of previews have mentioned peds using mobile phones, and hearing their ringtones... so having different phones with different ringtones just for collecting would get confusing.

Endangered Species, means if you don't know that a species of animals is endangered of dying out, so that would mean killing all the pigeons on LC would count as endangering their species, and since the description says collect every hidden package, is another nod to confirming them as the hidden packages.

Didn't the oxm review say you could change your ringtone? Maybe collecting ringtones is what they mean as you hear them when your near them? Think we could be onto something here!!

Wait a second guys, remember that it was a playstation magazine that found that shooting pigeons thing, so maybe that isnt the achievement (ps3 doesnt have achievements)

Like GTA III this is setting new ground on what a Sandbox game does, so of course they're going to have you do something different to get the hidden packages, and I think this is better, as now you'd won't have those glitches of being stuck a 99/100 and can't find the last one.

Perhaps it's more than one thing? There could be 100 pigeons, 100 hotdogs, 100... uh... cellphones... the same way Just Cause had loads of different sets of things to find.

There's loads of different things in that that you can 'collect'. The rubber bands, the gravestones, smashing the pumpkins, the radio transistors, pulling the fire-alamAll of them collected in slightly different ways, but all of them relevant to the story.

 

Pigeons might well be a collectable, but there might be many more too.

Rockstar didn't want us to think it was pigeons. Some previewers found it out by accident. If they hadn't mentioned the pigeons in that preview, then we probably wouldn't be thinking it was pigeons now. All they wanted us to know was that they fit into a modern city and you can hear them when you're close. Pigeons fit this description.
