LukeGJ
Apologies if this has been asked already. Stupidly I haven't pre ordered GTA IV and now the release date is rapidly approaching. I'm from the UK and would like some advice as to my best option to get this game as close to the release date as possible.

Fuzzknuckles
Currys or Comet - my girlfriend preordered mine from there and was one of the first to do so. This was only a week or so ago, so they're probably not too heavily over-ordered yet. Good luck! Signatures are dumb anyway.
TechnoHead
Just get to the nearest shop. If not...buy it on launch day. If not...buy it the next day, etc.

RedSpecial
I would recomend trying the supermarkets, especialy tesco and asda alot of people overlook these places so there generaly well stocked with games on release day.

dudi
I haven't pre-ordered the game, i'll just pop down to tesco around midnight and I should be alright. Otherwise i'll search the town I work on release date & get my sister to search my home town.

If your going at midnight expect to have a few hour wait.
(Del)
I read yesterday that several high chain shops have stopped preorders due to the amount of people. I also read this game is expecting to sell 6 million in the first week.
dudi
I'll ask them for one out of the back then, at the end of the day it should be on the shop floor on the 29th.
Fuzzknuckles
I'll just say this again: Currys or Comet. They haven't taken many preorders and will be getting a lot of stock. There's still time to preorder it! Signatures are dumb anyway.

Fuzzknuckles
I like the thrill of the chase. Well, if it sells out and you're still chasing while we're playing, write about your experience in a tear stained blog-post. Signatures are dumb anyway. (Del)
I've never preordered, I too like the buzz of rushing around town hunting for it. I even skipped college hunting for Vice City. I searched Game, Comet, HMV, Tesco, Asda, Woolworths, Dixons and several other gaming backstreet shops... In the end I found out at a little corner shop in the mall.. and I was only 16 at the time, the shopkeeper knew it but it was his last game and he wanted the cash. dudi
Fuzzknuckles - I use the internet to offend people not whine about something that would be my own fault. I'm sure you would welcome me over at your house for a dabble at GTA though, don't worry i'll bring the beers.

But if you're buying, I might make an exception. Signatures are dumb anyway.
Kyeb
I'm getting mine from asda early in the morning... very early in the morning They was not taking pre-orders and its first come firist serve... The game in my city has over pre-order... so even if I did pre-order I was'nt assured a copy... money hungry bastards!
mrernie
Go to somewhere like Tescos or Asda, I'm sure they havn't sold out yet.

The game in my city has over pre-order... so even if I did pre-order I was'nt assured a copy... money hungry bastards! And here lies the problem. Suddenly, all of the non-regular outlets become the fallback. Over Pre-orders will make the likes of supermarkets the next best option, so they will also sell out - and guess what kids: you can bet your ass their Age restrictions are a damn sight harder than your friendly game store might be..... good luck
hansenmork
I pre-ordered from Blockbuster video yesterday. Guaranteed for release day. You wont have a problem buying it on the day.
RedSpecial
the thing is its only the preorders that are sold out at the mo, shops must have copies on general sale aswell as preorders so they allocate a percentage as preorder and the rest goes on shelves, i doubt it will be that hard to find a copy. oPg^
People dont realise that games rarely sell out. Consoles are a pain to get on release day but games (discs) are printed by the thousands. There will be about 17 million copies of this game available worldwide. As I work at Tesco, I will be popping into my nearest EXTRA store at about midnight and picking up a copy, for £35 (10% discount). Getting a copy of this game will be no hard task, trust me! I can't wait!!!!
chrisbroxton
ive pre-ordered mine off tesco online, it said "preorder now for delivery on day of release" i think it still does, so id go with that
SoSoildGTAKid04
I pre-ordered mine of GAME. Its NOT GRANTED FOR RELEASE DAY. But then again, as long as it saves me waiting till stores re-stock. I'm quite pleased.
