There was a link to these 4 guys talking about gta, there were 4 parts and only 3 videos were posted. I can't find it in the search, any help? I think the fourth video was supposed to be posted today?

Well that sucked...all they really talked about was how EA will definately buyout Take Two, Patcher even said "it's a done deal." Then at the very end the host said "they think" GTA will be out at the end of April and that he hopes they "can confirm a April 29th release." What is going on? Seriously? This game is supposed to be in stores WORLDWIDE IN 14 DAYS...I'm really starting to get worried...something just isn't right...

Yes that's true, but something just doesn't seem right. Even though the game is supposed to be in stores worldwide in two weeks I just feel really something is going on...I don't know what and I could be way off, but something weird is going on. These are supposed to be people with industry connections/are part of the industry and THEY basically have said they don't trust this release date. After watching this it's very clear that those guys do not think this game will be out on the 29th.

Do you know how bad it would look to delay a game 2 weeks befor it's out?

Do you know how bad it would look to delay a game 2 weeks befor it's out?

I definately agree with you. If this game is not in stores on the 29th I would say this would be THE number one most disasterous releases of all time...simple as that. If a game of this magnitude, this hyped up was delayed two weeks/less than two weeks of release it would be sick.

No need to worry; this has already been addressed in the Official News forum.

 

The show was filmed back in early March, then edited into 4 separate episodes. Notice that they are completely oblivious to the multiplayer capabilities, the new site updates and so forth. This Pachter fellow is increasingly dubious. He seemed to think that EA could delay the release of a game like GTA, as if Microsoft and Sony weren't going to flip if that happened. I'm no analyst, but I'm pretty sure Pachter is just stirring the pot. And that's the rub: I think he's created a small niche for himself - an Al Franken of the industry - but doesn't actually have any real insight or information most other people don't.

 

Oh, and if GTA:IV was delayed now, I wouldn't buy it.

Ok cool...thanks. However, as a side note...didn't EA extends its tender offer to the shareholders until the 17th? I think Take Two has another board meeting that day as well and I believe it's rumored that EA is going to up their offer to $32 a share, which I think will pretty much seal the deal...the shareholders will not walk away from that offer. So if this does go through it would happen about ten days before launch. Could EA delay the game that close to the launch, or will GTA IV be safe?

 

EA would techinically own Take Two, so they would become the new publisher of the GTA series, so wouldn't they want to delay IV, so they can slap their pitiful logo on the box? I really don't know how that would work becuase IV's printing has to of started already, or will be starting this week to meet the demand of a worldwide launch of one of the most hyped games of all time. Any insight or feedback on this would be much appreciated.

Valve announced that the HL2 will be delayed 1 day prior to release. Of course, everyone with a brain already new, but there was no official announcement until that very point, and a lot of people blindly believed that the release would happen.

 

I'm not saying that this is the case here. I'm just saying that there is president. These things can and do happen.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
