vettefan88
Can you not f*cking read?Jesus christ. YOU CAN'T TAKE MUSIC YOU ALREADY OWN AND PUT IT INTO THE GAME WITHOUT PAYiING FOR IT !WHICH IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO IN OTHER GAMES. Jesus christ. You're stupid. YOU ARE AN IDIOT! read the god damned article! it says, plain as day, that if you hear a song on the RADIO you can PURCHASE it for your own personal use. MEANING, if you're driving around, and you hear a song from the in-game radio, that you like, you can PURCHASE the song to transfer to any portable device you own in REAL LIFE! it's a more modern version of the games soundtracks, and an EXCELLENT idea. if you don't want to use the feature, then DON'T, but for some people, they may enjoy it. ugh, I hate stupid people. this whole thread, this idiot "Idontremember" has been bitching, and arguing over his own f****** misinterpretition of the article. please, leave the forums and never return. thank you, but I pointed that out already ^^ good job on being the only other person in here to understand what he's complaining about though yeah, I noticed after my post that you already pointed it out. I just got too frustrated over his first reply to this that I had to say something before I continued reading
Raynos
wtf are you complaining about exactly? Being charged for music without knowing/Be abling to do it for free when i can in other games. if I am reading this correctly he's complaining that you have to pay to listen to music in game you aren't being charged to listen to the music, and you obviously know about it since you're posting in here XD you're being charged to download the music to your computer. a perfectly respectable buisness practice. and it's DRM free so you can put it on ANY music player. MY GOD YOU'RE AN IDIOT. Follow me on this. I own cd's. I want to put the music on the cd's i already paid for in the game. I can't do that Unless I pay for the song's again. Jesus christ..It's not that hard to understand they're ripping you off. They should've allowed us to do stuff like this "The Xbox 360's hard drive is utilized to allow custom music to be used in the game as music." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_SmackDown...ion_differences Call me an Idiot XD let me clear something up for you. YOU CAN'T PUT YOUR OWN MUSIC IN THE GAME, NOT EVEN BY PAYING FOR IT. THE SERVICE YOU PAY FOR IS TO DOWNLOAD SONGS FROM THE GAME INTO YOUR COMPUTER. jesus what a noob. can't even type out a normal sentence and then calls someone an idiot for trying to translate what he's saying, and then, on top of that, is talking about something completely retarded, which is wrong in the first place. zip your trap buddt, or GTFO. holy crap. Can no one see the point this guy is trying to make? You buy the game, you buy the music in the game etc etc etc. All he is saying is that, He FEELS ripped off because he cant just download the songs from THE GAME DISC. This new service enables you to PAY for songs you like, the songs which are in the GAME that you payed for. I love all the gta games and im not trying to say this game is crap and neither is he. All he is saying is that its a bit of a cheap move. Most pc users will be able to rip those songs to their hard drive without ever having to pay a cant. That said, i dont really care about that Amazon crap, im in NZ, so i'll be using limewire to get the songs, if i do. EDIT Oops. Didnt realize there was another page.... my bad. vettefan88
Every Xbox 360 let's you play your music from the HDD. But he might want to make his own radio station. no, he says in one of his posts that he wants to be able to play them like on his other games. I'd imagine it would be done like it was for SA on xbox where you did get your own radio station using your songs. he misinterpreted the article, made this topic, and started spreading his misinterpretation to everyone else, so now half the people reading this are just as confused as he is. and everyone is arguing of a feature that hasn't be confirmed yet, but based on the history of the console, will most likely be there. this thread should just get locked. before it spreads. thor79
Well...if there's ever a PC version, you'll definitely be able to do it there, but for now...I have an iPod. exactly what I was thinking...if I want to hear music I'll start up winamp and listen to my mp3 collection. Don't have a heck of a lot of room on my 360 hard drive anyway. I'm there to play the game...not listen to music...most of the time I turn it off or turn it down low. HairyWookieBalls
In an attempt to stop all the huge quotes and CAPS LOCK FIENDS, I'm going to try and clear this up. To the OP - you have it completely wrong. You cannot pay to have your own music in the game. The service you're referring to is for if you want to buy music that is playing on the in-game radio. This is quite normal, and certainly Rockstar have sold GTA soundtracks seperately for each GTA. The special edition features a soundtrack CD. I don't know about PS3, but Xbox 360 owners can play their own music stored on HDD in game by switching off the in-game radio, and playing the music through the dashboard. I've never tried this, but I'm pretty sure you can create a playlist, press play and commence your crime spree. Done? Thank f*ck for that!
numdmind
Yeah, the guy who created this topic is pretty dim-witted. You are paying for the right to download it to your computer, not your console. If you dial the number in-game, you'll get a message that tells you the name of the song, but you're not getting charged for that. You only get charged if you go to Amazon and download it there. You don't have to pay for music you already own if you decide to listen to it while playing GTA IV, assuming they have a user radio station like they did with San Andreas for Xbox and Vice City and GTA III as well for PC. But they haven't mentioned anything about that yet I don't think. Which is pretty dumb actually. That was a great option. If there is an option for that, they are certainly not going to charge yo top listen to it. It will just be an option. Man, you are slow. Playing music through the dashboard can get pretty annoying in these types of games. Sure, it's fun for when you're wreaking havoc, but if you're actually playing the game, it kinda distracts from the story and whatnot.
nlitement
I didn't really read this thread, but you're one big idiot. The Xbox and PC versions have always had custom tracks, and for f*ck's sake, even if this time neither version had the ability of a custom radio station, you can play tracks on your 360. Oh, or are you saying that they should let you have the soundtrack for free with the game? No thanks. You'll be able to rip the radios, but if you want the soundtrack, get the special edition. YOU CAN'T TAKE MUSIC YOU ALREADY OWN AND PUT IT INTO THE GAME WITHOUT PAYiING FOR IT !WHICH IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO IN OTHER GAMES. Jesus christ. You're stupid. Sorry but i think you've got the wrong end of the stick. The point is if whilst your playing and listening to the in-game radio you hear a song that you like you ring that number (in game) it then sends you a text (in game) telling you who its by and what its called, still all free, in addition to this it will also be added to your social club profile. Then once you've done that when you're looking at your social club profile it will give you a link to amazon for all the songs (from in the game) that you've tagged using the phone. *Its just an alternative to having to buy the full soundtrack cd. *Its only used for downloading tracks that are already in the game onto your pc *Its not a way to get new music into the game. *If any form of custom radio station is included then it will work the same way as in other games (i.e. you put the cd in your machine and rip it). Hope this clears up any confusion EDIT: Oops sorry i didnt see there were extra pages already pointing this out
killingyouguy
I don't think I'll use the service. But I do think it's a decent feature. If it was the radio stations in their entirety (commercials, DJ's, etc.) then I'd be interested. I already have all the radio stations from the previous games (at least the ones I was interested in) on my iPod. I aim to do the same with GTA IV's. What I like the most about GTA radio stations is the DJ banter, the commercials, etc. otherwise it's just songs I can get from anywhere.
blinkd
"Following a partnership between Rockstar Games and Amazon.com, players will be able to purchase real world MP3s through GTA IV's in-game mobile phone. If the player hears a song they like on the radio, they will be able to 'mark' the song by dialling ZIT-555-0100 on Niko's phone. They will then receive a text message providing the name of the song and the artist. If the user is registered on Rockstar's 'Social Club' website, they will also receive a real world email with a link to an Amazon.com playlist where all of the player's marked songs will be listed and available to purchase for roughly $2 each. Initially, this service will only be available in the US." Some of you maybe saying it's cool. But I think it's bullsh*t that they would put this in the game and confirm it before confirming/Not putting in the option to upload music off your hardrive like you can do in games like Svr 08 and Mlb 08 the show. (Here's a link http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/grand-t...-model/1199430) I think that's an awesome idea, although they'll probably be on the soundtrack anyway, I don't see what you're complaining about. xenorevlis
You can play music on your HDD or an external drive connected via USB. kriptakanakuh
On the 360, when you play one of your songs form your hard drive, from the HDD. IT PLAYS OVER THE games normal music/SFX. xenorevlis
Hopefully you can make your own radio station with your own songs from your hard drive. Thats exactly what I'm talking about. The same functionality the PC versions of older GTAs had - a radio channel that has ads between your songs made possible by having an HDD.
Niko-Claude Vercetti
Jesus H Christ your an idiot idontremember. Heres how it works. If you like any of the songs being played on the radio in GTA you get a link sent to your P.C so you can purchase the song from amazon and put it on any media you want. If you want to listen to your own music while playing GTA rip the CD to your hard drive or plug your Ipod in then press the guide button (im talkin 360 here) and select your music from the huge music selection key at the bottom of the page!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what is hard about that you retard you can listen to your own music in every 360 game you just select it from the 360 menu and not the game. And in all other gta's on the original Xbox you could make custom soundtracks from the music saved on your hard drive and play it through the stereo in game. Nothing has been confirmed but I would imagine you could do that again.
